Found out yesterday that baby #2 will be another boy . Given I currently only have 7 gun cabinet with only 1 open slot, I need to expand my storage as I anticipate at least a few new firearm additions (smaller rifles - 22-250, 243, etc.). Appreciate any thoughts on a reasonable (weight/cost) gun safe that will hold at least 10-12 long guns.

What other toy are you replacing it with? I've been looking at smaller-ish caliber (.243, 25-06, 257 WBY - not so small) rifles. Any idea what the rig weighs scope and all?

Heaviest one I've personally come across field dressed at 206lbs up in Franklin County. Seeing him trailing a hot doe looked like a semi-truck tailgating a ford focus. Trying to get that him back to the truck required a phone call to some friends and a few cases of beer. He filled my freezer, and will be on my wall within the next month or so.

Love a good snowpocalypse. snowblower is full of gas and ready for action. It fired last night on the first pull which means on Saturday/Sunday it'll take 20 minutes to start...Such a love hate machine

I've never been a measurements guy. I care more about how much they weigh after field dressing. With that said, I thought my buck from late muzzleloader might make B&C. He ended up grossing 154 3/4" and netted 150 1/2". I'm still in shock that I actually saw something that big let alone got a crack at it. The odds of me seeing something that big again on public land in NY are exceptionally low. He ended up field dressing at 196, and he tastes delicious Taxidermist talked me into a floor pedestal mount, and I cannot wait to see what he looks like in late spring.

If you see a guy that is really ridiculously good looking with a toddler in tow, that would be me. Just dont judge the diaper bag....i had zero say in what was purchased.

Was very fortunate to run into this guy the last Saturday of muzzleloader. Shot wasn't great as I had a tight window, and he was quartering away. It was good enough that he bedded down within 20 yards of the shot and gave me the opportunity to reload and put another one in him. He didn't have a liver left which is probably why he bedded down so fast. No idea what he scores (upper 140s/low 150s?), but he field dressed at 195 pounds. To say my wife is excited for a new wall decoration is an understatement

I'm starting to play with the idea of getting a new deer dropper. Wife is due with kid #2 in July, and I figure if I don't do this now I'll never do it. Right now I primarily carry a Browning X-Bolt in 7mm-08 and a savage 220 during deer season. I also have another X-Bolt in 30-06, Marlin 1895SBL in 45-70, Remington 870 SPS SuperSlug 12Ga, and a CVA Accura V2. I feel like i have all my bases covered pretty well, but that empty slot in my gun case is really bothering me. Thinking of getting something my son could carry when he comes of age. Maybe a Winchester Model 70 in .243; however, I've had my eye on a 25-06 for the longest time. Always appreciate the thoughts/feedback from the group.

Love to do deer drives with responsible hunters. I normally kill more deer while being a pusher rather than a stander. Deer drives seems to be going the way of the buffalo. I don't see many people doing them anymore.
