They should include a barrel length restriction and allow someone to carry on person during bow season. I should have added to my above post do what you want but don't b!$ch about the ticket and how unfair it is. It is in the regs you just have to be able to put 2 and 2 together and get 4 not 5, 3, or 1.

Here you go: It is unlawful to: Take big game while the deer or bear is in water. Possess a firearm of any description when bowhunting or when accompanying a person bowhunting during special archery seasons. Make, set, or use a salt lick on land inhabited by deer or bear. And before you start to say it doesn't pertain: Big Game License requirement: The new law essentially treats crossbows as a muzzleloader. Hunters must possess a muzzleloader hunting privilege to legally hunt with a crossbow during any muzzleloader season OR during open portions of the early bowhunting seasons. Muzzleloader privilege is not required when hunting with a crossbow during the early bear season or the regular firearms seasons. So in summary a crossbow is treated like a muzzleloader meaning you cannot take it afield while bowhunting. There it is in WRITING now all of you stop arguing about this crap.

Yeah supposedly not a bash at hunters but it didn't take very long to blame hunters and how messed up they are and how unethical. It's a crock of crap and hunters will always be on the receiving end of the stick in these cases. The women should be charged, and if it was my name they were trying to tarnish you better believe I would be hiring a lawyer and suing their prissy butts.

Ole' crazy eye? When he really gets amped up his one eye starts to look sideways.

I like the bowhunt or die guys. Everyday guys with full time jobs that can get it done.

Yeah the pelvic bone I haven't attempted with a knife but the sternum is easy. True but makes it easy for the first timer. I don't usually use one more of a hassle trying to get all that stuff out instead of just using one knife.

in 8W an 8 point that came in on Sat. 10/21 was trying to beat up on a little 4 point, neck was huge.
-
Doesn't that mean you tied if she was up one?

You should be able to use the knife to cut through the cartilage in the chest with that knife. I do it with my little 2 1/2" blade.

I bought 2 SOG seal pups to try, haven't shot a deer yet to try them. I used to use a gut hook but the guy I work with turned me onto the flip open razor knifes with the shingle blade. Usually last a season or 2 depending on how many deer you use it on.

A rifle would make a little more sense. I usually get out of the stand at dark to help keep from spooking deer.

it says 500 yards! That's one heck of shot with a shotgun. I would think at that distance it would have bounced off the hunter.

Practice draw on deer you don't intend to shoot?
chas0218 replied to ApexerER's topic in Bow Hunting
Heck no, usually if I draw I let the arrow go. Once the bow is back all bets are off. Had a nice 8 point come in and he almost immediately saw me in the tree somehow before I drew good thing he was more concerned with the 4 point but never presented a shot. -
Well we started that way but he is a good kid and never had any issues. I think we will be going back that, father is pretty pissed right now. We have never pushed deer on our property and during the middle of gun season we can see double digits of deer bucks and doe. They are a little more spooky but still walking around during daylight hours. It doesn't bother me if someone kills a big buck and would rather see him get it over the guy down the street that shoots everything that walks. But when/if you are doing it with bad intent it makes my blood boil.

My eyes are burning now, I can't unsee that crap.

So our neighbor has a good chunk of property about 100 acres, we have access to the land but having a little over 200 of our own we don't use it. A kid I know and went to highschool with has permission to hunt their land and we gave him retrieval rights. He has hunted there for about 3 years no real issues other than people using the neighbor's property to get to ours. This year he has had a couple guys hunt with him and he has been using our property to access his stands and such to keep from spooking deer. Now I wouldn't have an issue except now he is blowing up some of our best bedding areas and managed to push a nice mature buck onto his property from ours because of him needing to access his stands from our property. He texted me a couple times about the buck at night feeding in the field and how spotlighted him almost daily. Now we have nothing on camera or in the fields in that vacinity. Well hunting season starts my grandfather saw someone walking across the property on more than one occasion right through the bedding area of the known buck, and now had ATV pictures which we have never had in the past. The kid is nice enough but he or his hunting buddies are overstepping and starting to take advantage of the retrieval rights. We are thinking of revoking all retrival rights and telling him no access to the property period. Any input would be great, I'm talking to my father and grandfather to see if they approached him about it.

This past weekend I saw and heard more deer than any other sit.
-
Was able to sit in stand on Sat. Morning got a good look at an up and comer and the stud of the property. 120" 8 point on the prowl around our property big neck and body made the little 4 point look like a fawn. Wasn't a monster but majority of the deer on this piece of property won't make it past 3 1/2 with the brown it's down neighbors.

How did you get your spread number based on the tine length? I'm saying that the spread is 16" and you agreed. Now take the length of the tine and compare that to the 16" spread. The g2, g3, and g4 on his Left is easily 3/4 the length of the spread making them 12" minimum. This 10 point is 131" gross with a 15" inside spread. It won't let me upload ill try later. If they were 8" tines and assuming the spread is 16" then they wouldn't be longer than half the spread. I stand with 12" g2 and g3 on the conservative side with close to 8" brows slightly smaller. Figuring 20" main beam you're looking at 104" Without the mass or accounting for the spread or g4. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I have a 23 and love it it will eat any type of ammo without hesitation. I also have a SW bodyguard 380 and SW SD9VE all great guns but the SW are more accurate at longer distances. My next will probably be an FN.

This was 16"wide 10 point with 9" g2 and g3 scored 123" those are easily 12" and he is heavier. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
