  1. Thank you. I will try that.
  2. I have these in orange, and I like them. Did you fit yours to your regular size, or go one size up? The foam insert is tricky.
  3. OK, I'm up and about ready to head out for a morning session. Who else is heading out today?
  4. I am very pleased to be able to tell my wife what a great contribution she made to the hunting forum today!
  5. hypothermia, and seeing deer, are my main concerns. I have a rain poncho, but I would probably have to cut it to go over the hunting jacket hood.
  6. Is there a feasible way to muzzleloader hunt in the rain with temps just above freezing? That's my forecast for Saturday, too.
  7. I have that one, and I like it. It's lasted longer than any of the Foodsaver branded ones I've ever bought over the years. It is rather large and clunky, but it is heavy duty, for that style of food saver. When/if mine dies, I will upgrade to a small chamber style vacuum sealer. Another option I'd consider is https://www.sausagemaker.com/Commercial-Vacuum-Sealer-p/25-1021.htm As far as I can tell, it is comparable to the Cabela's performance-wise, but $70 cheaper. Plus they run 15% off sales from time to time if you are not in a hurry. In general, Sausagemaker equipment is of good quality.
  8. I was going to go back out this morning, but am not feeling well. I was tired and achy yesterday evening, and woke up with a sore throat this morning. So I killed the 4:30 a.m. alarm and slept till 8:00. Upon waking, my wife looks over at me this morning and says "You know, those deer aren't going to shoot themselves." I then proceeded to get zero marital sympathy for not feeling well. Well, I still have a few days left . . . .
  9. Could you post a pic of the hole in the bibs? So Scent-lok is built into the fabric? So you have to keep the clothes in an airtight container, run them through the dryer to reactivate, etc?
  10. Don't worry, it all worked out in the end.
  11. You may want to check out www.uship.com if no one here can help you.
  12. If you guys ever start a field-to-fork program for predator hunting, please sign me up.
  13. Finally in stand. Overslept alarm by 20 minutes. Supposed to be windy, but wind is calm so far. Got the Baffins on today. Good luck all who are out this morning.
  14. Full moon is in two days. I guess with thermal scope that's not as important?
  15. Mind if I hijack, err, I mean expand upon the OP? I have some trail spots that are bare and would like to put down a "grass" seed that will be relatively thick and durable to handle occasional UTV or tractor traffic. These are also relatively wet areas Any suggestions? Grass seed is not cheap and relatively delicate to me. Something like rye maybe?
  16. This is a hypothetical question. If you wanted to scout public land in the southern zone that was new to you, and you only had one month to do your scouting, what month/30 day period would you choose? I hope this isn't too silly of a question. Thanks for your thoughts.
  17. Did you find that logo on the website, or did you make it yourself? It looks good. Could you send me the graphic in a file?
  18. @burmjohn @WNYBuckHunter@fasteddie May I have permission to make some shirts up using the forum header logo? Happy to pay a licensing fee.
  19. Why not just put it at the distance you are most likely to have a shot? Even though you sighted in at 50, you know that if you take a 100 yard shot, you will have x inches of drop, and/or you know what the different hashmark distances are. So don't necessarily tie yourself to 50 on the parrallax.
  20. I think what's going on is that those guys aren't patient enough to wait for the big deer to come out -- they are shooting the scouts and not even realizing it!
  21. Might not want to get him mad at you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWNPeFwrNrA
