Watching the dinner thread for this!

Looky who I saw on the X-way on the way to work this morning - truck looks great! Rob probably thought "who is this a-hole driver zooming up on me"?
-
Check out this skunk. Looks mostly white.

Congrats on finally getting it home Rob. All good?

Three Heads. Not bad.

I don't know if its active or not. I'll move a camera over there and see what's up.

Finally got out for a few hours in between rain showers to change some camera cards and look around for sheds. Found one the mice got to already, and then found a matched set laying next to each other. First time finding a set. Found two deer kill sites and a turkey kill site. Found a bear den too. Black tufts of hair on those broken roots. Productive hike in 60 degree temps!

Thanks for the quick intel guys! And especially for the offers to try one out. Just ordered a jelly head. Sold out on a lot of sites, but Amazon had some. I’ll have to get some different ammo to try out with it for next weekend.

So admittedly I’m not much of a Turkey hunter, but I would like to get a bit more serious about it. I would classify myself more as a deer hunter who likes to take early walks on Spring mornings with a gun and some calls. I usually carry my old Remington 870 with a 28 inch vent rib and a full choke screwed in. Takes 3 inch shells. Kind of sentimental, one of my first guns, and I pretty much only use it for that any more. I’m amazed at the array of chokes on the market and would like to give the old girl a bit of a more modern performance boost. And then there’s all the extended chokes. Looking for some quick schooling. What do I buy?

This will probably be an unpopular post, but I am mixed to negative on this. I absolutely hate seeing plastic bags (and any kind of trash) in the environment and it wouldn't bother me a bit to use paper bags. But leave it to NY to BAN things in response to misuse by others. It seems like every day I hear or read about something else in NY getting banned. Crazy kid shoots up a school - ban the rifle he used. Stupid people throwing their trash on the roadside - ban the item. Those photos earlier in the thread show other plastic items, not single use grocery bags. So the next knee jerk reaction should be to ban all plastic, not just single use bags. That albatross looks like it's got a shotgun shell and some fishing line in him. We don't want those banned also right? I see coffee cups on the roadside everywhere, and some jerk drops his Dunkin cup on my road every day - I pick those up. NY should ban single use cups and we can all hand our ceramic mugs through the window for a refill at your local Dunkin. And then they have the gall to charge fees to use paper, a freaking renewable and sustainable resource! I've read that it takes several (5 if I remember) tractor trailer loads of paper bags to deliver the same amount of plastic bags that one truck delivers. But that 5X diesel emission pollution must be OK. Just tired of the nanny state making all of my decisions for me. Go ahead, flame me!

I watched it. I was pissed off when I first read about this, and now I'm really pissed. Good title for the thread, they truly are subhuman!

Happy Birthday guys! -
Yes they do! But in this case, the few articles that I read through all the way were pretty factual and neutral. It was the comments that surprised me. I was reading through them and thought, "Is that how we're thought of, a bunch of armed drunks"?

I fully support and agree with this law, and really it should be for any handling of a firearm. What frosts me though, is the news coverage. I ate lunch in my car today enjoying the sunshine and scrolled through Facebook for a few minutes. I must've seen this article on at least 10 news sites that I follow. Reading the comments, it sounded like people are thinking that this law is needed because without it, hunters are just a bunch of drunks stumbling around with loaded guns.

We were bestowed with a cat a few years back (drop off) who actually is a pretty cool cat. She's an outdoor cat but shacks up in the chicken coop with the birds. I worry a bit about yotes and foxes getting her, but a couple years ago I spotted a fox walking through the back yard. He passed within 20 feet of the cat in the middle of the yard. He glanced at her, and didn't care at all about her. She got into it with a Fisher a couple of years ago and won, but the Fisher was young. Good to know your cat can hold its own against a fox!

It's New York, I thought everything was taxed. Heck, I though even tax was taxed.

I assumed General Manager of the dealership.

Cool video!! Walking out to the car this morning I heard my first morning gobbles a couple of hundred yards behind the house. Got me pumped up!

That sucks - hope they get it squared away quickly for you. I've had salespeople bend over backwards to close a sale, and in every case drove the vehicle home the next day or even same day.

Happy Birthday Philo!

So, circling back to @rob-c, how’s the new truck?
