  1. I've had a cap on every pickup I've owned until my current Tundra. I thought I'd only keep it for a couple of years so I went with a soft tonneau. Still driving the truck 7 years later and I've come to really like the tonneau. It's convenient when I have to carry something taller than the bed. I'll be upgrading the truck next year, but I think I'll go with another tonneau.
  2. Love wine! But I'm pretty fussy about it. I'll only buy wine packaged in the very finest of domestic corrugated cardboards.
  3. So why aren't we addressing the real common denominator here? Every shooter has been a nut case. And nobody is doing anything about it.
  4. I get it. But when AR's are gone and Remington 870's become the new weapon of choice, maybe those should go too?
  5. I don't mind a NICS check for person to person sales. Heck If I buy a used gun at a store I have to do that. I don't see why I have to pay $25 though for an electronic transaction or even a 5 minute phone call. That's an exorbitant cost. If it takes 5 minutes to perform that's $300/hr. Seems a little high especially when the ATF is funded by taxes.
  6. Oh yeah, me too. Heck I've only found a few in my life!
  7. I like to shoot on my own back 40. I understand what you're saying, but when you say no need, it's a damn slippery slope. You don't "need" more than 1 or 2 guns, and you certainly don't "need" more than a handful of rounds, so why not include that? If he didn't have more than a few bullets he wouldn't have been able to shoot more than a few people. I reiterate that you can't legislate away a nutcase with an intent to harm. Murder is illegal, bringing a gun on school grounds is illegal, but that didn't stop him. And taking away lawful gun owner's AR's wouldn't have stopped him either. Armed guards at the school might have stopped him. It probably would have deterred him. We have armed guards at banks, but not at schools. That's ridiculous.
  8. If it wasn't an AR, it would be a pistol, shotgun, box truck, car, etc. The common denominator here is that every one of these school shooters is nuts. And absolutely nothing is being done about that. And under the 2A, I don't feel that we should have to show why we "need" to have a certain type of gun. Where does that stop? You don't need multiple guns, don't need a couple of hundred rounds of ammo, don't need a semi auto shotgun? So if we give all that up, will that stop school shootings?
  9. Bachelor group of three little bucks that make the rounds behind the house. One dropped, but the other two are stingy with their antlers.
  10. The mount and the collection on the walls look great!
  11. Maybe not solely based on that, but personal statements of goals like that should be a big part of the analysis. It certainly shouldn't be brushed off.
  12. and yet they haven't. This white kid killed more people in one day then ISIS did all last year in the states. Papist has a valid point though. Just replace "ISIS" with "any organized group of bad guys".
  13. Just curious, how do you legally do that? Is there a nuisance permit scenario for that?
  14. Usually start at the recent topics section and then scroll down the new posts tab.
  15. Sorry for your loss TF. That's a very thoughtful thing to do for your Dad!
  16. Jim's equipment in Campbell? He's just a few miles away from me. He has a solid reputation. Haven't bought from him (went with a green one at the time), but he's done some repair work on some of my stuff. Fair and square guy.
  17. Celebrated with my wife last weekend, out to dinner, etc. Flowers being delivered to her at work today, and to the homes of both my daughters. I started that tradition many years ago and gets me huge props. It was a hell of a lot cheaper back in the day, sets me back about $250/yr now.
  18. My Dad and I took a helicopter ride above the falls once in the 1970's. What a great memory. Do they still do that?
  19. Chas, IIRC I think you're in the same general area as I am. I had Hughes about 6 yrs ago, and went to Verizon for a hotspot (wireless). After that many years of relatively slow service, I went to ATT last Fall and got their version of a hotspot (they don't call it a hotspot) which also comes with the ability to hook up a phone through the wireless modem. It's fast enough, we can stream with little to no buffering. 250 GB monthly data allowance. About $70/month.
  20. Nice freehand groups! Mine will have to wait for this weekend as I won't be home during daylight hours until then.
  21. I cry every November since 1999 except this past one. Of course that's because I'm a Bill's fan - has nothing to do with deer. Sorry for the derail..
