One of those ads at the bottom of the page liked to a thread from the very LJC that WNY mentioned. I killed a few minutes perusing it. Most of us that interacted with hunter and his various incarnations had the very same interactions 3 years ago. Was pretty coincidental to have that particular thread randomly pop up.

I lived in Ithaca for one year while our house was being built in the southern tier. I was less than a mile from Cornell near six-mile creek. I had trophy bucks in the back yard frequently and went to some area landowners looking for permission. You would have thought I was insulting their mothers instead of asking for permission. I got some very rude denials including one old couple who threated to sic his pissed off german shepard on me. The woman was holding the door open telling the guy to go ahead and do it! The guy was holding the dog back and told me I'd better get off his property before he lets go of the dog. That couple even called our land lady to complain about us wanting to kill deer. The landlady was hunting friendly and didn't care. I didn't ask more than 5-6 places that were very close to where we were staying and I gave up on that quickly.

That's on my list of things to resurrect. I did a lot of it when I lived in Rochester, not so much in the last 10 years. I've got all the stuff, just need good ice and good waters. Hmm, Ice fishing GTG sometime?

I'd like to get a few sits in for predators, and I'll do a bit of squirrel hunting. Then of course there's shed hunting in April, turkey in May, bass fishing in June... Sounds corny, but I really do love NY!

I kind of liked that name. Odysseus was a legendary hero in Greek mythology, king of the island of Ithaca and the main protagonist of Homer's epic, the “Odyssey.” The son of Laertes and Anticlea, Odysseus was well known among the Greeks as a most eloquent speaker, an ingenious and cunning trickster.

Got two local flocks that have merged recently. Last weekend I had the dog out in the yard about an hour before sundown and heard them flying up to roost within a couple hundred yards from the house. They were pretty loud about it for a good 5-10 minutes, got me psyched up a bit! I never got my nemesis tom last year. I hope to rectify that issue in about 4 months and two weeks.

Curious as to why?
