My biggest issue with this entire topic is the fact that ANYONE can pick up a crossbow and go hunting. Back when I took my bow hunters education course there was a ton of good information provided on the techniques of bow hunting and I personally learned a lot. To hunt with a cross bow all you need is a hunters safety course and a self provided "Crossbow Certificate of Qualification" which I think is bull. I am sure the expectation of the state was that most buying x-bows would be bow hunters that are already certified and experienced and therefore a separate course would not be required. In my opinion (and it is only an opinion) you should not be entitled to hunt with a x-bow without completing the Mandatory Bowhunter Education course period. The x-bow could easily be included in the bowhunting course and maybe some of those so eager to hunt with a x-bow would get to learn something about deer hunting in the process.

Bank Of America Now Refuses Loans To Makers Of AR-15, Similar Rifles Posted at 8:30 am on April 11, 2018 by Tom Knighton It seems anti-gunners really want to end the private ownership of guns. Sure, right now they’re ramping up the pressure on the AR-15, but they will eventually spread to all guns once they secure that beachhead. But let’s also be honest for a moment. They really don’t have the votes to make this happen, and they know that even if a blue wave sweeps through Congress, they’re still not going to have the votes. They have a solution, though. They have a way to hurt private ownership of guns without needing Congress at all. They simply pressure the financial industry to make it impossible for gun manufacturers to do business. Without the support of some financial institution, gun makers and sellers are hosed. https://bearingarms.com/tom-k/2018/04/11/bank-america-now-refuses-loans-makers-ar-15-similar-rifles/

http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/marijuana-pests-deer/ Cannibas QUOTE "Deer are nocturnal and are therefore most likely to come to your garden in the middle of the night when fewer humans are walking around. If they do stumble upon your marijuana plants, they will have a heyday, devouring your precious plants’ leaves buds, and entire seedlings." "You will know of it the following morning when you see their hoof tracks and the horrendous damage these hungry animals have done to your plants." Why is obvious

I put this one on this year for plowing. Just got tired of screwing around with the cable. So far so good. Used it all winter on a 4' plow with no problems or breaks. It is supposed to have a 4700lb break strength but have not put it to a real test yet. $20.00 on sale or with a coupon at harbor freight. https://www.harborfreight.com/atvutv-synthetic-rope-fairlead-kit-63139.html

Like I have said in the past...one season from Oct. 1st to whenever, so many tags allotted to each hunter, and shoot them any time during the season with the legal weapon of your choice.

What is your point???? The Manufacturer's Takeback Program is just some more information. The other list is for places that "supposedly" accept them. Sorry for trying to help

If you are in Ontario County:https://ontariocountyrecycles.org/BusinessDirectoryII.aspx?lngBusinessCategoryID=35 Manufacturer's Takeback Program Did you know that under the New York State (NYS) law, manufacturers must provide a convenient and free process for folks to recycle their electronic waste? (Note: Manufacturers are not only required to accept their own brand of electronic equipment for recycling, they are also required to accept one piece of electronic waste of any manufacturer's brand if offered by a consumer with the purchase of electronic equipment, covered by the law of the same type by a consumer.) Consumers can use DEC's list of electronic equipment manufacturers registered in NYS, to find manufacturers, their brands electronic equipment covered by the law, and their electronic waste acceptance program websites and contact information. WELCOME TO MY HOME Wife arrives home late at night from a business trip and quietly opens the door to her bedroom. But she notices four legs instead of two peeking from under the blanket! Seized by a fit of rage, she reaches for the baseball bat and starts hitting the blanket until the screaming stops. Still in shock, she lurches to the kitchen to have a drink. As she enters, she sees her husband there, reading a magazine. "Oh welcome home darling," he says, "my parents came for a visit, so I let them have our bedroom. I hope you said hello." A gorgeous young brunette walked into the doctor's office and said that her body hurt wherever she touched it. "Impossible!" says the doctor. "Show me." The redhead took her finger, pushed on her left shoulder and screamed, then she pushed her elbow and screamed even more. She pushed her knee and screamed; likewise she pushed her ankle and screamed. Everywhere she touched made her scream. The doctor said, "You're not really a redhead, are you? "Well, no" she said, "I'm actually a blonde." "I thought so," the doctor said. "Your finger is broken."

Best part of that is if they found one case they would be testing every deer in the state...dead or alive.

Baxter said deputies had to use several different techniques to eventually take her into custody, including the use of pepper spray and deploying a Taser. After taking Mouhib into custody, Baxter said deputies moved inside the rest of the house and discovered Abraham's body. Three other people were inside the home at the time: Mouhib's husband, the husband's mother, and Abraham's ten-year-old brother. All of the family members have been moved to another undisclosed location.

What is appalling is they pepper sprayed & tased her, then took her into custody. Now tax payers will be paying for her the rest of her life since she is mentally challenged and the death penalty is off the table in NY.

An amendment, introduced by Sen. Joe Scarnati, R-Jefferson County, onto a newly signed transportation law, is intended to make sure PennDOT, already responsible for clearing roadkill from state routes, gets it done promptly, said Casey Long, a spokesman for Scarnati. There was no statute outlining a timetable for deer removal prior. Pennsylvania is the national leader, by volume, when it comes to deer-involved crashes, amassing 10 percent of the country's total per the latest data. According to a statistic released by State Farm, 126,275 accidents involving deer were reported for insurance purposes from June, 30, 2014 to July 1, 2015. Only West Virginia, Montana and Iowa, three states with sparse populations, have higher per capita rates of deer accidents.

Nice part of the state to hunt...a little rugged in spots but still a nice area to hunt.

He's been identified as Vassell, Saheed Four officers, three in plainclothes and one in uniform, then fired a total of 10 shots, fatally striking the suspect. Welcome Joe. We took a ride to Hampshire in the fall of 2016 and enjoyed the trip. As we made the rounds it looked like a nice place to hunt and I would go back again. I would be interested to hear your comparison of hunting in New Hampshire and New York. I am sure they both have their advantages.

I know of one and he purchased a x-bow because he wanted to hunt during bow season but didn't want to commit to the time required to learn how to shoot a bow, practice, and hunt deer during the "early" season. Deep down he is a dedicated gun hunter.

For what is worth...Tells me they really don't have a clue. Just making a "educated" guess and I use that term loosely. Commissioner Seggos said. "Even though it is too early to say if this reflects an increase in hunter compliance with mandatory reporting rules, an increase in harvest, or both, it is clear that our efforts to foster harvest reporting through our Take It · Tag It · Report It campaign are working. I applaud all hunters for complying with our harvest reporting requirements, which provide invaluable data for DEC's conservation staff to improve wildlife management in the state." -
Based on last years season I would have to agree but after this week I am beginning to think they are either getting smarter or I am getting dumber. This week behind our house on two different nights we counted 28 & 27 at once after not seeing any since October, Just about every day this week there has been at least seven at a time. The other interesting part of the chart is the Older buck harvest increase. Tells me that maybe less bucks are being born OR hunters are being more selective.
