  1. Trump administration erects billboards in Central America telling would-be illegal immigrants to turn back https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-administration-billboards-central-america-telling-illegal-immigrants Court hands Trump win in sanctuary city fight, says administration can deny grant money A federal appeals court on Wednesday handed a major win to the Trump administration in its fight against “sanctuary” jurisdictions, ruling that it can deny grant money to states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/court-hands-trump-win-in-sanctuary-city-grant
  2. I'll believe it when I get the notification from Cuomo that all New Yorkers should drive safely
  3. As the proposed bill reads it would literally ban all land trapping in New York. The dimensions given are only in reference to leg hold traps that can be used in water. The bill clearly states: "AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to prohibiting the use of leg-gripping traps" Body gripping traps are illegal to use on land already. It would limit trapping to live traps only so it would basically eliminate trapping on land all together except: ''Except as provided in subdivision 1 or 2 of section 11-0523 with respect to destructive and menacing wildlife, no person shall (a) set or use a trap of the leg-gripping type''
  4. I hate to admit it but I am a register democrat and have been one for quite some time. I will probably remain one because it gives me the right to vote on a candidate in the primaries. As far as being loyal to a "party" and voting for the party regardless of their qualifications and interests isn't for me. When I vote I vote for the person that I think has our best interest in mind and will do the best job for the country. I don't think we should even have a "party" system. Anyone should be able to run for president, and be elected on their merits and abilities to look out for the country not their political affiliation. I have not seen a Democrat I would support in quite some time. I don't like a lot of what Trump does and the way he acts but I voted for him and will do so again because I believe he is looking out for our interests. I also believe he is a true patriot. This latest group of Democrats all seem to lean towards their own special interest groups and I have not heard one of them talking about how to bring the country together. Regardless of what they say they are not looking out for the country as a whole.
  5. If it was a Honda all he had to do was back-up. . He's sure lucky it wasn't 10-20 feet of water
  6. Not true.....There is a fair, easy solution that would be easy to implement and would be equitable. Simply charge by the pound. The hardest part would be coming up with a rate per lb. Once that could be established it would make things less complicated and less costly to administer.
  7. After your suggestion I researched three of the manufactures data and came to the conclusion that it would be more reliable to use their data and to just use the manuals for a guide or starting point. As I stated before I am just trying to get a load that is safe for her to shoot and not have problems with the gun. I did find a nice site for anyone that uses Hodgdon Powder: https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle
  8. Coyotes have a tendency to drag a carcass off where they feel more comfortable to munch without interference from others. I had six in my back yard sometime last night after a fresh coating of snow yesterday and some of the tracks were almost twice the size of the ones you have posted. Watch for a double because they more than likely breeding now and tend to run in pairs.
  9. Accurate......The abbreviation in the Lyman Book is AA#5 and in the Lee Book it is Accur#5. Your are correct and I went back to the Lyman book and they say the bullet tested was a Sierra .95 gr. fmj but their book shows starting grains 3.0 to a max of 3.9. So my question remains why the difference and what do you go by if not using Sierra Bullets?? The Lee book does not specify a bullet by name but does give the same powder charge range as the accurate website shows.
  10. I have done some of that and found that most of them only supply data for new combinations they have developed.
  11. I have read them and refer back to them often. There is a ton of information in them for sure some of which most will never use. One of the biggest emphasis in both books is powder charging so I have been careful since I don't want my daughter to have problems. I have been loading on the low end and will continue to do so since most of her shooting will be plinking. Her self defense rounds are factory loads around $25.00 for a box of 20 so she won't be shooting them very often if at all. I can see the use for a chronograph and may get one eventually but didn't think I would need to "develop" a load for plinking. She doesn't need "hot" loads for that. Maybe I am overthinking everything and being over cautious but I would rather be safe than sorry and needed to understand the difference between powder charges from manual to manual which I thought was significant.
  12. I did load 10 rounds of each recipe and they all shot fine but was curious why the big difference between the two. If indeed the powder manufacturers change their "recipes" from time to time which I have heard before just how reliable can any manual be. Don't know the bullet manufacturer since she bought them in bulk at a gun shot and the two books I have don't reference bullets by manufacturers only type and grain.
  13. I started reloading over the winter and have come up with something that has me stumped. I have a Lyman 49th edition reloading book and thought maybe I would get a newer one so I bought the Lee 2019 edition. I going through the "new book" for comparison and in quite a few instances they don't even mention some of the powders listed in the Lyman Book. Also some of the powders in the lyman book are not mentioned in the Lee book. I was going to load some .380 autos for my daughter with a 95 gr. fmj that she uses for plinking. The powder charge listed in the Lyman Book is for Accura#5 powder is 3.0 gr. start and a max of 3.9 grains. I went to the Lee book and their suggested start grains for the same bullet and powder is 4.3 grains with a max of 4.8. The Lee book starting charge is more than the max charge in the Lyman book. The minimum OAL in the lee book is 0.945. The OAL in the Lyman book for that bullet is .900. How can two loading manuals differ so much with the same powder and bullet. I contacted Lee and they were no help and have reached out to Lyman and they do not reply. Anybody have any insight???
  14. All I would really like to know is which one of the clowns is claiming victory of the debate??
  15. I am with ya on that one. My old Easton aluminum 2117's shoot about as good as anything. If I ever run out I may look into carbon but until then it will be status quo
  16. If you are right I wonder if they have figured out what happens with the "first lady" position
  17. I happen to turn on the tv last night and there was the democratic debate. I figure what the hell and watched it for about an hour before I couldn't stand any more. I have never seen anything so pathetic in all my life. I am not crazy about some of Trump's antics and the way he conducts himself with all the tweets but I can say for sure there is not a democrat in the race I would even consider voting for. Pretty sad those are the "best of the best" in the democratic party. The entire format of the debate is lousy and the moderators are worse than the candidates. I did not hear a single question from the panel answered and some of the dumbest questions were asked. One of the moderators (Vanessa Hauc) could barely speak English and most of the "candidates" had a hard time understanding her questions. Definitely won't be something I will be tuning into again

  19. Sorry for the title but it was put in the Bow Hunting thread because it was shot with a bow and with the way things fly around the internet I had my doubts about the validity. I know some big animals have been shot with a bow but a killing shot on that bear would have taken some serious penetration.
