Sure does to me too Paula........... I blew it up as much as possible on this end and it looks the fawn could still be alive. The coyote has a death grip around it's throat which could very well paralyze it OR as suggested earlier it was a fresh road kill.

Primarily a climber for me but do use ladder stands on occasion. Ladder stands are more convenient once they are in but a climber is more versatile to me.

I personally hunt by myself 99% of the time. It is tough to find someone that has the same hunting style as yourself and visa versa. I find hunting by myself is more enjoyable because I can come and go as I want, scout when and how I want and I am more attentive.

Mine would be 3 hours/165 miles one way. Leave the house about 3:30 a.m. stop and have breakfast on the way. Hit Clayton just about daybreak. Drop the beagles and run rabbits til dark then load them up and head for home. They would sleep for two days afterwards.. It wasn't unusual to limit out in a day and we usually didn't get home until 8:30-9:00 at night. Sometimes we would get into the grouse also making the day worth the trip.

the self checkout at walmart isnt that bad.....

If you get some time I would like to see that list. It would interesting to see how the other "businesses" compare to the salaries, benefits, and pensions that Kodak, Xerox, and a couple of others used to pay before they started sticking it to their employees. -
I am not a big fan of mowing grass but view it as a necessary evil. I am on my 10th season with my current mower and try to take care of all of my equipment so it will last. Most years I scrape and clean the underside of the deck two or three times a year and about five years ago I wire brushed the entire underside and painted it. This year has been a real pain because I have had to scrape it after every mow. Even though the top layer of grass is dry it always seems to be wet close to the ground and causes it to stick to the deck. The past couple of times I spayed it with non-stick cooking oil and while it helped I still end up scraping. I have the deck wash option but have found that makes an even bigger mess. This is todays pile. Any tips would be appreciated.

You have obviously missed my point of thousands of jobs have been lost to automation and a high percentage of manufacturing jobs have been lost to automation or gone overseas. The days of getting a manufacturing job, retiring from there and the next generation doing the same are over. One good example is Eastman Kodak who used to employ 65,000 in Rochester and today employs approx. 2300. That does not include the trickle down effect to their local suppliers that had to go out of business or bankrupt. Some people have to work at Walmart just to supplement their income or to keep their heads above water. -

Not everyone has the opportunity, know how, or willingness to go to college. Tell that to the thousands of auto workers, steel workers, and assembly plants across the country that lost their jobs to automation and robotics. -

You are correct and I have experienced some doozies at times. But the bottom line for me is those "doozies" still have to eat, put a roof over their head, and possibly support others. I would rather support a living breathing person regardless of their inadequacies than have my money supporting a machine that has no other purpose and will only function when plugged in and programed. -

I personally always use a cahier checkout regardless of the pain in the neck it can be. I have witnessed and experienced the effects of automation with thousands of jobs lost. I do my best to contribute to the future of jobs that require a person. Unemployment is not fun and we have lost way to many jobs in the US over the years. -

I would be no help. I have never been able to look at a map and pick a spot. For me it is time in the woods looking for sign that will determine my choice of stand location(s). Once I find a nice looking area I try to get a camera in place to make sure I am not hunting a place they only use at night.

Are you "Four seasons whitetails" in disguise?? What a nice bunch of bucks you have posted.

Congratulations to both of you and I hope you take advantage of this hunting season as much as you can. Believe me when January rolls around your life(s) will be changed forever

My best guess would be the 2016 buck is the father of the 2019 buck picture and I don't think it is the same buck. Just one opinion. Real nice either way

I have owned and used several Garmin products and all have been good performers and reliable. I have never owned or operated a "Reach" but after reading about it believe it would be a great product for the andirondack's where as you well know; cell phone coverage can be spotty at best. Just pack some extra batteries and you should be good to go. Good idea by the way. One can never be to prepared.

Stopped and got all my licenses and tags today. The town clerk said she didn't have any regulation books because they haven't been printed yet. The state will be sending them out as soon as they are done.. I guess you can't expect much for $100

Report Your Turkey Sightings This August While you are exploring the forests and fields around your home or driving through the state’s beautiful landscapes this summer, be sure to keep an eye out for wild turkeys. DEC uses reported observations of wild turkeys to track changes in abundance and productivity (number of poults produced per adult hen) over time and in different parts of the state. It also helps forecast hunting prospects for the coming fall season and for subsequent spring seasons. Download survey forms from DEC's website or submit your observations online. Thanks for your help!

Please notice the date I mentioned the "dems" That has been our curse right along from day one.
-
First of all I didn't say a thing about "dems" in this post. Second I apologize if I ruffled your democratic feathers. When it comes to my rights I stand up for them in any way that I can. I contribute to organizations I feel are working in our best interest and also support organizations I feel are doing the right thing. I do not believe just purchasing a membership in a specific organization expecting them to do the work we won't do for ourselves is going to gain anything. And for your information I was just giving information that may be of interest to others and to let people know how things are seriously deteriorating in our country.

I got a subscription as a gift and I think the gifter really does not like me so it would be a gift to give. Other than that I wouldn't even look at it because of all the adds and articles about things I am not really interested in. I subscribe to: The New York State Conservationist, Fur Fish & Game, Trapper & Predator Caller, and Predator Xtreme. You can actually get Predator Xtreme for free if you apply on-line
