I dropped these deer off to the processor and DEC technicians had just shown up and said they were going to spend the day aging deer....so i asked the guy taking my name and number if they could weigh the deer as well....I was pretty excited since she looked like a big ole girl to get an actual age and dressed weight.....so when I picked my meat up the processor stated she weighed 125 and the DEC aged her at 1.5 yrs old...I plan on pulling the lower jaw to look for myself....can't say I believe she only weighed 125lbs. Was fortunate enough to take these two opening morning about 5 minutes apart..he came busting in behind me running three does in circles...once I repositioned my rifle he took off downhill after one doe...the second doe wandered behind some tress and headed down hill as well leaving the big girl I was able to take locked up at about 35-40 yards...I let the .30-.06 bark and she dropped within 20 yards after I caught lung-top of heart-lung. So I decided to call my wife and let her know we had a deer down, and low and behold I look down hill and the buck is peaking at me from behind a tree at about 120 yards....I told my wife I had to go and out the phone down, carefully took aim and drilled him with a liver-lung-lung shot quartering away...he was down 40 yards later and my freezer was instantly full!! I take mine to the deer shop...love the way they package and care for the meat too...I always hoped I got mostly my deer from them but after last weekend I dropped off a huge ole doe and 1.5 year old buck...well i ended up with close to the same amount of meat back from both....I will post a pic and you can clearly see the doe should have yielded way more....but I like say to other guys looking for a processor I can't complain because the only way to know what i truely should get back if I do it myself. I was wondering this same question a few weeks ago when I sighted in my muzzle loader. its hitting 2" high at 100yrds. and was 4" low at 146 yards. Is that a 6'' drop over 46 yard increase?? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

My wife sat out this season because she is 5 months pregnant so I gave her a quick call sat morn after I dropped a doe...while chatting i told her wait a second I think I see a buck....put the phone down and dropped him at 100 plus yards while see was listening on the open line....she said she was so pumped and felt like she was there there the whole morning in the stand. I shot a doe yesterday at 35-40 yards with a .30-06 150 gr. Hornady and got double lung plus what looked like top of the heart....she did a 20 yard death run and died in front of my stand...then no less than 5 min later took a buck at over 120 yards that went liver-lung-lung I believe and he only wandered 5o or so yards before tipping over and expiring. Gutting knife....could have sworn it was in my pack, ended up emptying the whole pack looking for it to no avail. But on a positive note I ended up using a Havalon knife that my Dad won at a Gun raffle....wow that thing was amazing, razor sharp, nice compact size, and for the first time in years I didn't stick myself while cutting out the esophagus.

Hot Doe...these clowns will come from anywhere to find a Doe in Heat.
