Passed on a mature doe...she was with her yearling still... The bedded 60 yards away for 20 min...out the cross hairs on her a few times but she gets a pass this morning...one doe down on our hill so far

I love making the drive either tonight or tomorrow morning. Trucks packed with ATVs and supplies headed off to camp.

My wife starting hunting in 2012....that opening day she dropped a doe in the afternoon at 70 yards with my trusty .30-.30....which now has become her trust .30-30..lol

3 doe around 4pm just milling around and eating here and there.....was cool to watch how they didn't react to the gun shots surrounding the property I hunt.....a gun shop is located a 1/2 mile away and all the locals must have been dialing in the boom sticks for the weekend.
Warm but wind is starting to pick up in southern 9g.....sitting in a hot stand....hoping to catch one out cruzin this afternoon....and to think a year ago tonight mother nature unleashed hell on Why with 84 inches of snow in 48 hours.
Heck of Deer...deff. nice to get the blood pumping and pull you out of Bed on those cold nasty morning. Drop that big guy cold, and put tape on him to prove all the 140' arm chair rack
scorers wrong!
To put another spin on this hours logged question.....guys/girls who are single I umderstnad how the hours can add up.....guys/women with families how do you find so much time away from wife/husband, kids, home owner responsibilities??

If you hunt in East Aurora...make a call to Ike from lorretto archery in north Collins...his strings and cables are too knotch...custom colors..and will allow you to tune at his indoor range after it is restrung.
I agree that a rifle is more cumbersome that a clunky 12ga....I use a .30-.30 in tight quarters...and a .30-.06 in open fields when you are looking to reach out and poke one from 100+ yards
