I never did either... Till setting up a stand, 20 feet up and when I stepped out onto it it came out from under me... Thank God I still had my climbing strap around the tree... Saved my life... Now I think "How can I do that safely and quickly...?"... Life lines are the bomb...

I think people should be as safe as they can be.. a lifeline with a ladder stand is a 20 - 30 dollar investment that could save your life... accidents happen.. stands break....

I love Blackhorn 209... just use magnum primers with it.... You can weigh charges like you do for reloading rifles as well to fine tune the charge...

Exactly.... With Ladder stands it is tough for an alternative way.. but for a lock on stand, I use a climbing harness around the tree to free up your hands and keeps you from falling during the set up..

The lifeline runs from the base of the tree to above the stand.. you slide up the prussic knot as you go up.. Always connected to it so you never can fall ...

Seems when I go through from my phone it locks up... Another annoying thing I find is when you go to one stand, you don't see the others.... You have to click on each one...

All I know is, does taste better than bucks... and mature does are bigger than young bucks... So doe hunting I am a going... LOL

Use a life line on everyone of my ladder stands and lock ons... Never know what will happen while climbing... All I know is I want to come home after every hunt...

I haven't shot a small buck in years.... Sadly.... I've been passing them but others on the property don't... so I fill my tags with does.... But every once in a while I see a good one.. Maybe this year will be the year...

LOL.... I lost the farm I took that 152" to a lease... But yes... I know.. just itchy trigger fingers... I'll fill my doe tag archery then wait it out on that farm.... Got another place I can go and fill a quick DMP tag on to fill the freezer... Then I wait... LOL

Had 3 - 4 cameras out since the beginning of August.... best buck I have on camera is a 5 pt... getting anywhere from 70 - 150 camera triggers a week... one camera set to take 2 pics had 750 pics in 2 weeks... But nothing older than a 1.5 year old.... No DMP tags for this particular farm to boot. I try to stay out of the Antler restriction posts, I've always felt it should be 1 buck tag for the year... but honestly... I've let so many small bucks walk on this farm and have this to show for my efforts??? Something needs to change...
