Welcome to the site. Enjoy and don't hesitate to post. I love NH and the White Mountains are wonderful.

I doubt the loss of a fawn would cause it's mother to die of a broken heart, since deer do not feel emotions like that. If they did, many doe would die every year since fawn mortality is very high for many reasons.

It's okay to be all three

It's also OK to challenge protests supporting a dubious idea that is not supported by any analytical, scientific or statistical database, though you may be violently attacked for doing so, which is not OK. -
First let me say I applaud Delhi Police Chief Mill's support of the Constitutional rights he took an oath to defend, and agree with his decision to allow the protest in Delhi on 6/6/20. I went to the courthouse at 1:30 PM that day and stayed down the block at a safe distance to see the event. I saw hundreds of people on the square, none of whom were keeping 6 feet away from others, many with no masks, handing signs and other things from person to person, no hand washing or sanitizers being used, none of the things we have all been mandated by our state government to do for two months to protect each other from the spread of a virus that has caused a pandemic. This made me wonder why this protest was allowed to take place, when many other everyday events are not allowed. If any other gathering of a similar nature was currently occurring in the state of NY, the government would step in and order people to disperse under threat of arrest. I certainly don't support such government oppression and it led me to question why it would happen. Under NY state's COVID-19 lock down mandate, we must not be within 6 feet of others in public places, must wear masks, can't freely circulate unless deemed essential by the state, attend graduations, church services, funerals, comfort dying relatives in the hospital that are COVID-19 positive, get a haircut, open our non-essential business, work at our non-essential jobs, go to a park, movie theater or restaurant, or generally exercise many of our Constitutional rights without fear of government retaliation, some forms of which are very severe. These restrictions have killed the stock market and many retiree's life savings invested in it, ruined the country's economy, caused massive unemployment, increased rates of suicide and drug abuse, vastly increased the National Debt, put many small and large businesses out of business, caused many people to permanently lose their jobs, caused the states to lose billions from all of their tax revenue streams (that they will be coming for in the future to the detriment of all tax payers), caused citizens to allow the largest government power grab to occur in the entire history of the country, caused huge distrust of government, irreparable political polarization and major psychological stress for the entire electorate. Citizens voluntarily allowed the government to infringe on all of their Constitutional rights in the belief they were fighting an invisible enemy that had to be conquered. I wonder now if that was all for nothing, since Saturday's event didn't comply with that ideology, or was the lock down the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the citizens of the United States to infringe on all of their rights. If we still have a Constitutional right to protest en masse, especially supporting a dubious idea that is not supported by any analytical, scientific or statistical database, in spite of the current pandemic that supposedly threatens all of our lives, why have we been denied all of our other Constitutional rights to live as free citizens for the past two months, to the detriment of the entire country? After Saturday's event on the Delaware County Square, we are either going to realize the virus has never been a threat and all of our sacrifices were because of a scam, or we are about to see Delaware County become the next big virus hot spot in NY state. Either way, we will be made to suffer.

Can we trust any of the virus info we hear? On May 22, a dubious hydroxychloroquine study that appeared in the medical journal The Lancet surmised "that treating hospitalized COVID-19 patients [with the drug] actually increased their risk of death," Reason reports. But, lo and behold, "Three authors of the study are now retracting it." The retraction statement explains: "Our independent peer reviewers informed us that Surgisphere [a medical data aggregation firm] would not transfer the full dataset, client contracts, and the full ISO audit report to their servers for analysis as such transfer would violate client agreements and confidentiality requirements. As such, our reviewers were not able to conduct an independent and private peer review and therefore notified us of their withdrawal from the peer-review process." Peer reviews are not only necessary but are to be expected. So it goes without saying that failing to submit to an audit is rather suspicious.

Guns Don't Kill People, COVID-19 Does In at least five instances, gunshot deaths have been classified as coronavirus. Thomas Gallatin · Jun. 5, 2020 Like the parlor game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, seemingly any deaths registered since the China Virus pandemic hit the U.S. end up being listed with COVID-19 as the cause. As the mainstream media keeps a daily running total of coronavirus deaths, like macabre theater highlighting it whenever some “milestone” figure is reached, it becomes patently apparent that the motive is sensationalism and sowing fear. It’s as if the MSM is perpetually screaming, “This is a big deal!” Therefore, it comes as little surprise to learn the running total of COVID-19 deaths is, to put it bluntly, padded. Now, this is not primarily the fault of the MSM, though reporters and pundits certainly have done little to clarify the situation. Instead, much of the fault appears to lie with the confusing guidelines for classifying COVID-19 and a monetary incentive to err on the side of assuming the possibility of COVID-19 as the cause of death even if no definitive testing has been done. However, even these factors fail to explain how gunshot deaths could possibly be misclassified as COVID-19 deaths, but, according to a recent Freedom Foundation report based upon Washington State Department of Health documents and statements, in at least five instances they have. Washington State’s DOH health statistics manager Katie Hutchinson noted, “Our [DOH COVID-19] dashboard numbers do include any deaths to a person that has tested positive to COVID-19.” She then explained, “We don’t always know the cause of death for a death when it is first reported on our dashboard. That is true. Over the course of the outbreak, we have been monitoring and recording the causes of death as we know it. We currently do have some deaths that are being reported that are clearly from other causes. We have about five deaths — less than five deaths — that we know of that are related to obvious other causes. In this case, they are from gunshot wounds.” Now, of course, five is not five thousand, and this is not a major scandal. But it does prompt questions about whether the data can be trusted. While presenting rich fodder for comedians, the concern is whether anyone knows the real number of people who have died from COVID-19.

This is what causes good police departments to stop doing their jobs. That's when crime starts to rise and the residents start to suffer. How can you expect police to do their job when they get charged with a crime for doing it? P.S. You know that old man is coming back with a lawsuit that will stick the residents with a multi million dollar bill too.

Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, D.C., on Friday ordered National Guard troops, who were in the nation’s capital to quell civil unrest and looting, out of their hotel rooms. The move drew a sharp rebuke from a senator whose home state sent some of those troops. Bowser reportedly planned to evict 1,200 National Guard troops from their hotel rooms. That included 200 guardsmen from Utah, who were reportedly staying at a Marriott hotel near downtown Washington. “Evicting Utah National Guard personnel from their hotels after a late-night shift risking their lives to protect Washington is a shameful, petty, discrediting decision by Mayor Bowser,” Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said in a public statement. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., also criticized the Democratic mayor. The 200 Utah guard troops were deployed to Washington on short notice earlier this week, and finished their overnight Thursday shift at 3 a.m. on Friday, according to Lee’s office. They were forced out of their hotel by 11 a.m., ahead of another shift Friday evening at 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday morning, the Utah lawmaker’s office said. “Our Utah guardsmen are consummate professionals who are not complaining in the slightest,” Lee added. “But their labor and sacrifice on behalf of Washingtonians deserves better than this embarrassing spectacle.” Bowser’s office did not respond to an email inquiry and could not be reached by phone on Friday. The mayor has opposed President Donald Trump’s move to use the military to stop the rioting in the city. “If Mayor Bowser has a problem with President Trump, she should take it up with him, not take it out on National Guard personnel in the middle of a dangerous deployment in her city,” Lee added.

Next time a "veteran "peace" activist" walks right up to police to confront them, don't shove him. Arrest him. And the man is being treated for cancer too. Is it possible he was looking to be martyred rather than suffer a slow painful death from cancer? It's called "suicide by cop". Seems to me he was looking to take out a few cops by becoming a "victim". I noticed he waded right into an army of police telling everyone to get back, with the riot helmet he brought with him in his hands, rather than on his head. I find that very telling. Cops need to learn how the opposition plays this game. Never lay hands, in the slightest way, on anyone unless they are being placed under arrest or you are defending yourself from attack. Next time an old fool confronts cops doing their duty, just arrest him.

John R Lott Jr I hope my friend Todd Zywicki doesn’t mind me reposting his excellently written comments on why Donald Trump’s supporters stick with him. The only thing that I would add is that his supporters have seen all the lies that the media have spread about Trump from Charlottesville to the rubber bullets and tear gas supposedly being used against “peaceful” protestors in Lafayette Park. “He stood with Kavanaugh when most Republicans would’ve caved. And you wonder why so many of his supporters remain loyal? And that doesn’t speak at all to the extraordinary accomplishments on judges, regulatory reform, historic tax reform, repealing the individual mandate, restoring due process to Title IX, Trying to impose the rule of law on the administrative state, reducing foreign military adventurism, and probably a dozen others that I can’t think of right now. For those who care about policy, what exactly is the case for not voting for him? He Tweets too much? Meanwhile Biden keeps racing further and further to the left. Which do you think will be more likely to promote policies that are going to end the Lockdown-induced economic depression? So it doesn’t take blind loyalty for someone to look at that policy record on the merits and be pretty happy with it and want those policies to get us out of the economic ditch.” -

Leftist lies about Trump are totally out of control. Why aren't fact checkers saying so? https://nypost.com/2020/06/02/the-lying-about-donald-trump-is-now-completely-out-of-control/?fbclid=IwAR30uEw7d6RHm9Ktz-Y1xKm_VrVo__2xKepXsS2NKlgywK-TSqJ9CjxGPZc "It never ends, but these aren’t mistakes. This is how the national media are intended to operate in the Trump era. If they can’t find something wrong with him, they make it up." -

Mattis obviously was not paying any attention to the Obama administration for 8 years. Recent events are not new to this country and they certainly did not begin with the election of Trump. In his second term, Barack Obama stoked the hatred of cops using Mike Brown's death, the choke hold death of career criminal Eric Garner in Staten Island, and the death of drug dealer Freddie Gray in Baltimore as political fodder to maintain black allegiance to the Democrat Party. He unleashed a disgraceful condemnation of police that directly resulted in the premeditated and racially motivated murders of two NYPD officers and likewise the sniper murder of five Dallas PD officers. Apparently for most Democrats, Blue Lives don't matter. Arguably, riots across the nation were seeded by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who ordered police to stand down during the crucial early stages of unrest in that city. His message green-lighted the violence there and, by domino effect, in other cities. Frey became the latest in a long line of Democrat mayors condemning police and empowering rioters to loot and burn neighborhoods and assault anyone who dares stand in their way. While Tim Walz, Cuomo, Pelosi, de Blasio, and other leftists would have you believe this is something new in order to tie it to Donald Trump this election year, these riots have a well-documented genesis. Their historic roots are in socialist, communist, and anarchist groups in Europe. Rioters had cells in the U.S. during the late 1980s but faded in the mid-2000s until like-minded miscreants re-congealed after Barack Obama's 2008 election. The current cadres of violent organizers have roots with the radical socialist "Occupy" movement that was seeded and empowered by Obama. He was the inspiration for those rioters a decade ago, as they infested cities from coast to coast, including Oakland, Seattle, Denver, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, New York, and Boston. They reemerged in force at the 2017 Charlottesville riots and have been gaining even more ground nationwide since. Then we have ANTIFA. According to Dartmouth professor Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, antifa radicals define "fascism" as whatever suits the moment. Bray says, "There is a lot of debate about what constitutes fascism, and it's a legitimate question to ask — where does one draw the line?" He notes, "The slippery-slope argument, which is that if you start calling everyone a fascist and depriving them of a platform, where does it end?" Notably, Bray concludes: "These are revolutionary leftists. ... These are self-described revolutionaries. They have no allegiance to liberal democracy, which they believe has failed the marginalized communities they're defending. They're anarchists and communists who are way outside the traditional conservative-liberal spectrum." They are also way outside the limits of the law and civil society. Antifa adherents are now using black inner-city frustration to inflame the anti-fascist fascist agenda, which has nothing to do with "justice" for anyone and everything to do with undermining our Constitution and Rule of Law. And their tactics are sophisticated. As Attorney General Bill Barr confirmed, "In many places it appears the violence is planned, organized, and driven by far left extremist groups and anarchic groups using antifa-like tactics." In an official DoJ statement, he added, "Groups of outside radicals and agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own separate, violent, and extremist agenda. It is time to stop watching the violence and to confront and stop it. ... The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa ... is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly." Finally, Biden and the rest of the Democrat Party protagonists are repeating the race-bait mantra about the "systemic racism" that they claim infests the ranks of every level of our justice system, while insisting "I can't breathe." But allow me this observation: The "systemic racism" canard is a rhetorical caricature of the reality those in law enforcement experience in service to our communities and our nation. There are people who hold racist views on ALL sides, and there is no room for it anywhere. That is especially true among the ranks of those charged with upholding the law — bad cops need to be purged. But as Heather Mac Donald's research concludes, there is no "systemic racism" in our system of justice. Mattis is setting himself up for failure with his recent comments. All of the leftist attacks on Trump since his elected have failed and are going to backfire on election day. Trump is going to win re-election by a landslide in 2020 in spite of all these leftist attacks and attempts to overthrow a duly elected POTUS. The only thing that could possibly be underestimated, is the level of stupidity of the electorate come election day.
