Cheddar, prosciutto and ripe tomatoes on challa. I've never had better as an adult. Favourite kid grilled cheese was tuna salad and cheese which I called a Captain Hook. (I was an odd kid.)

Thanks @blaine35 I'll check it out. @Hunter1 The chimney installer mentioned a cricket after he did the repair. Why he didn't suggest it when he first installed the chimney, I'll never know.

I am near a Curtis, but I didn't see it on their site. I will be up there on Thursday so will check it out then. Sorry to be daft, but are you suggesting two full runs across the roof? One 12" off the bottom of the roof (split in two as there is an small jut out on the left of the building) and the other above the chimney at the 12' mark above the seam? Basically holding all the snow on the roof? Not sure if you can see, but this is a standard profile and not standing seam. Thanks.

@blaine35 Do you have a source for rails? Can't seem to find any locally. Everyone is selling the poly guards. Is the install just screws w/gaskets or silicon as well? Thanks.

I'm getting conflicting info. Does anyone have experience with these? I have a shed roof on my cabin - 36' feet from peak to bottom. About 24' from the peak is a metal chimney with two supports rods. There is a seam across the roof about 4' above the chimney. Last year, the snow ripped out one of the supports and damaged the chimney, so I need to protect it. Not concerned about snow falling below as it isn't a walkway. Three pieces of advice: two rows of staggered poly guards above the chimney and support (roofer advice) three rows of staggered poly guards across the span of the roof to ensure that the snow load doesn't "hinge" at the last guard and take out the support (supplier advice) rail across the bottom of the roof (below the chimney) to keep all the snow on the roof until it melts (chimney installer advice) Any thoughts?

Which market trail leads to the crappy whisky store?

Wegmans ... lucky you.

Perhaps a clarification of "market trail" is needed.

I had one in my attic once. Drove me insane. Find the hole he's using and put a one way mesh squirrel exit. Imagine a wire cone that narrows to about the size of a quarter. They can push out but can't get back in. Worked for me.

I once detoured 500 miles in a trip across the country to go to America's Best Barber in TN. (Understanding wife.) The least you can do is drive an hour and report back.

Here's one. From today's NYT's https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/07/nyregion/worlds-oldest-barber-anthony-mancinelli.html

The exotic dancers in Quebec were out of this world. Or so I remember reading. Back on topic, the only thing I can add about hunting in northern Ontario is to bring serious bug spray. Even in the fall, the black flies, deer flies and mosquitos can be very bad.

Graham may have been auditioning for the AG job. -
In 1967 Charles de Gaulle stood on the balcony of the Montreal city hall during Canada's centennial celebration and delivered a speech to the crowd that finished with the line, "Vive le Québec libre!" ("Long live free Quebec!"). Thus began the modern Quebec independence movement. The 80s were a tough time in Canada with the Quebec secession question gaining political momentum. It culminated in a referendum in 1995 where the Non (stay in Canada) vote won by less than a percentage point. Things are generally better now. Like anywhere, Quebecois are fiercely proud of their language and culture, and generally decent people. If you find yourself in Quebec make a small effort by saying bonjour, merci beaucoup, au revoir. It goes a long way.

Now? Not so sure. Without the previous nom? Probably. The system is broken. This equal but diametrically opposed two party approach to governance is akin to watching a football game where the ball is moved back and forth, a few yards on each side of the 50 yard line. -

He wasn't accused of rape, but to answer your question, yes, but not in court, on camera and in front of the country. "In 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said: "One of my proudest moments was when I told Obama, 'You will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy.'" The expectation that the SCOTUS should be partisan is insane. If Kavanaugh fails, Trump could nominate Garland which would stifle everyone, put a qualified jurist on the bench and go far to heal the country. Odds on that? Of course, that presumes a unified country is anyone's goal. -

I'm scared of heights but I'll climb a ladder when I need to or go out onto my rooftop deck, though I won't sit on the edge. It's not uncommon for people with a fear of flying to fly. What I found interesting was that she did not state her credentials, accomplishments or use personal references to bolster her credibility. She simply relayed the events of what was a traumatic night as best she remembered and answered questions. He laid out his credentials as if to say "how dare you impugn my character? I went to Yale!" I was surprised by how indignant he was at being questioned. What I found even more interesting is how closely his behavior mirrored what any number of people said he was like when he drank to excess, namely, that he was a mean and angry drunk. If this was a look into his character, I question whether he has the temperament or emotional stability to be on the SC. Interesting times.
