Nuts to the ice? I rather keep mines away from the ice. But I'll accept the challenge and plan to donate when it eventually comes around to me.It's a vicious disease. Some choke on their own saliva horribly because they lost the motor functions to swallow properly. Those who are unfortunate to have this disease suffer greatly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I guess Remington gave me a birthday present as well. Came home to find my Remington 700 back from the factory recall in time for deer season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unfortunately, I will be at work. Not much of a attention or celebrating type of guy. For my "day", I took my son to the zoo yesterday for the first time. I got my happiness vicariously through him. He got so excited when he saw some of the animals. My wife kept asking me what I wanted (materialistic wise) and I told her I have everything I want/need. In March, I'm heading down to San Antonio for a wedding so I going to book a feral hog/javelina hunt while I'm out there. My wife said she'll pay for it as my gift.

I prefer the 22LR for squirrels in the early season when the trees are still green with leaves but a shotgun is actually more ideal for it since there is going to be a lot of leaves blocking their view. The squirrels also allows you to get a little closer since they can see you through the leaves either. During the winter, the 22LR works better than the shotgun since the without any leaves for cover, the squirrels tend to spot you a little earlier and keep a little further distance.

Some people who dump ice water on themselves don't even donate. A lot of them don't even know what ALS really is. But if it wasn't for this phenomenon catching fire and becoming viral, they would never be able to raise the amount of money that they raised. Leonardo DiCaprio just pledge $7 million dollars to ocean conservation. But because he never made a viral video out of it, most people didn't even know he donated money and didn't join in and donate to ocean conservation themselves. So while there are narcissistic who never read up on ALS, never donated money, but simply pour ice water on themselves for their own self-promotion. What they do do is keep the "fire" burning. Lastly, as with most medical research charities, on their financial statement, only a tiny amount of the money actually goes to "research". This is due to what most people consider research. My wife works at a hospital for a research for memory disorders. Several doctors are working on this research along with doctor's assistants, nurses, IT staff and database administrators who compile the research data, lease for the lab space, the medical equipment that's rented/purchased that are needed to analyze the brain, etc. All of these things are listed as "staff and administrative costs" rather than as "research" but they are essential to the research. If you see a research charity where 100% of the money is going to "research" then you should ask yourself "who the heck is conducting the research because they're not paying anyone to do it?"

You log in online and select what you want to receive. I opted out of everything but the "American Hunter" magazine. Of course I still get several emails from them occasionally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it's two rifles, one of them would be a TC Encore so I can just buy multiple barrels for it but since the OP stated 2 calibers, I'd also go 12 gauge and 30-06.

Most entry level bows are $400 for the package. Package would include bow, sight, arrow rest, and quiver. Look at the $400 packages available, then go to the shop and try them out. Hold them in your hand, draw them back, etc. Pick the one that just feels better and more comfortable in your hand.

Not leery. Just found skinning them annoying sometimes. Tough little critters for not enough meat.

I brine them in salt water for 24 hours. This soften them up. I then boil them for about an hour and then peel all the meat off the bones. Then I add the meat to any recipe as a substitute or shredded chicken.

To sum up the last few comments, unless you're planning on taking 600+ yard shots on deer, and you're using typical loads, the 308 and the 30-06 are practically identical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome to hunting and welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask questions. There are more than enough people here who are willing to help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As long as there is land where you legally hunt you'll be okay. You just have to try and figure out how the deer will react to all this mountain bikers cutting through the woods. The deer will be pushed to another location and so you just have to figure out what that other location is.

When you look at bows, keep in mind the additional cost such as arrows, broadheads, a release, a case, and range time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My squirrel hunting is actually my scouting. I see more deer and deer signs while squirrel hunting then I do when deer hunting. It's a shame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use the ones that are the exact dimensions as the caliber. You then chamber it into your rifle and it shoot a laser dot down range. Again, it is not 100% accurate. It simply puts you on paper and you only need to take a few shots to get it to zero. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I always say I will but I never remember to bring my camera with me out into the field. Here are a few off of my phone.
