So apparently this is the first ever softball team from Alden that has ever gone to a tournament. Which is cool but holy cow the talent is on an entirely different level. We now play tomorrow morning one last time the worst teams against each other. I must say at the end of the 2 games the opposing coaches both had very nice and encouraging things to say to our girls. Judging by the giggling going on in the other room by two teammates this weekend means very little and I am way over thinking everything.

12U house team entered a tournament this weekend. Turns out it's all travel league teams in this tournament. The girls have been getting there a$$'s handed to them. First game 3 innings and a mercy rule Second game 2.5 innings and a mercy rule All we can say is hey this is what the next level looks like and it take's hard work and dedication to get to where they are. I was worried that this experience would have an negative effect on them. That is until the rain came and snacks came out and they got to talking with one of the other teams in the middle of all of it. Ton's of laughter and goods time's in the end. We had the coach's and there daughter over for dinner as our kids are best friends. Hardly a word of softball was spoken and we all had a good time.

12U 5-0 with a win tonight. Still no hit for my daughter. She struck out once and walked twice. One of these days I’ll put the DSLR camera down and take a few with my phone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

12U is now 4-0 8U is now 2-0 Both close games. My oldest still does not have a hit. She swings way to late and way to slow. This is only her second year playing and she did not play the last 2 years. So it's a big difference from the last time she played in 8U to now 12U. She will get there eventually but she will never be a superstar but that's ok by me. She has fun and gets the team together to cheer on and do there weird chants. @The_Real_TCIII knows what I'm talking about. The youngest was 3-4 in her first game and 4-4 in her game tonight. They are still using machine pitch but for as little as she is she sure puts some anger into those swings. LOL

I'm afraid to ask.... but did they win?

This is still cheaper than therapy. The first target is the .380 from 10 feet and the second is the 9mm from 10 yards. With the 9mm I’m definitely gripping way to hard causing the high right shots. When I was able to just have a firm but relaxed grip I did much better accuracy wise. Between all three guns I probably sent 500 rounds down range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Game one in the books. 50 min ride one way in the rain to watch them play in the cold and the rain BUT they won 14-11 and my daughter had a good time. It was nice seeing her with friends and teammates laughing and having fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed on the car time being great time to talk to the kids and find out about their life. That's of course when they aren't fighting with each other. LOL

Normally yes. House means no travel but We are from a small town so I expect some travel. The first year my daughter played they where in a league with a neighboring town so the away games where only 15-20 min down the road which is no big deal to try and get to after school and work. Now for some reason we are in this other league where the away games are more like 30-50 min away. I guess it’s a whatever type situation as in “whatever I’ll keep my big dumb mouth shut and drive all over WNY so my daughters can play softball and have fun because I love them so much” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First game of 12U house softball starts tomorrow. First game is an away game.... 50 min from home to the field which means I will be driving right from work and my wife will be driving by herself with the kids. Personally my wife and I hate this league. We are the only team in Erie county. The rest are from Genesee, Livingston, Ontario and Wyoming Counties which means every single away game is a Drive. The shortest drive we have is about 20min when we play Pembroke. We also just found out this afternoon that the 12U team entered in a tournament.... The same weekend we had planned our daughters birthday party. Friday was going to be for a couple of her friends and Saturday was going to be for the family. Now we have to have a conversation with her to see what she wants to do. Even if she decides to skip the tournament it still means her best friend wont be able to come to her party because she's also on the team AND she's the coaches daughter so I am sure she will be playing the tournament. Sorry just ranting a bit.

I know some guys love to cut the lawn. I’m not one of them. To me it’s a chore that has to get done. I don’t hate it but I don’t look forward to it either. My wife will do it in a heart beat.
