I just started with a cheap electric analog smoker. It’s more work than an automatic pellet smoker but honestly at $170 bucks it works better than expected. Only thing you have to do is replace the wood chips once an hour for the first few hours until the meat gets up to temp. As a complete novice I’ve smoked pork chops and corned beef and both turned out fantastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Right! What happened to the 60+ degree weather we had. Anyways I’ll have to settle for a fire and a few fingers if makers mark instead of the 3 dogs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’d love to be snuggled up to 3 dogs right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Smoked corned beef brisket. 8 hours at 225. Wrapped it after it hit 165. The most tender corned beef I've ever had with a hint of smoke flavor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Happy Birthday! I hope you called in sick to work and went and had some fun

I like having the pistols and the paperwork separate. The pistol safe is on the floor on my side of the bed for easy access if necessary in the middle of the night. Not that I really ever expect something to happen in the middle of the night but hey ya never know. The fire safe almost never gets accessed unlike the pistol safe which is every night and morning. The gun safe is just to keep the long guns locked up and out of the sight of anyone that may be visiting. I didn't see the need to spend big money on a gun safe.

I'm a super cheap person and I don't have a fear of my guns being stolen or being burned in a fire so my gun safe is is a cheap stack-on safe for the long guns and a cheap amazon pistol safe with a digital number combination for the pistols. All the important documents, house deed, life insurance, passports, birth certificates etc. are in a small name brand fire proof safe that site on the floor of our closet. I bet all of the safes put together are less then $300.

I couldn’t resist the temptation anymore and smoked a few pork chops for dinner tonight. Nothing fancy just a homemade rub and apple wood chips. They turned out amazing. This could become addicting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We already decided not to use fertilizer this year due to the cost. We only plant for the animals so whatever happens happens at this point.

How much will the price of fuel affect your hunting now?
Moho81 replied to Grouse's topic in General Chit Chat
It will cost more I am sure but it won't stop me from doing something that brings joy to my life. I use way more gas going to and from work and that brings me the opposite of joy. -
Thanks again everyone! It was a good low key night with my family. My girls got me some thoughtful gifts and my in laws pitched in on a cheap electric smoker that I wanted so look for me over in the smoking thread. First up will be a smoked corned beef hopefully Saturday if not then Sunday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
