I mowed yesterday. We are just about ready to put our house on the market in the next week or two, so I’m probably going to be mowing a bit more than I normally would bother with this time of the year.

I didn’t end up getting out in the woods at all this weekend. Between the high temps and having a bunch of stuff on my to do list, it just didn’t happen. With the big cold front moving through tonight, I’m playing hooky from work tomorrow and spending the whole day in the woods. Winds and temps tomorrow just look way too god to waste the day in my office.

I used to use Montecs, they are reusable. You just resharpen them. Now I use rage and just replace the blades.

It all depends on what Im making. Brats, Italian, breakfast, andoullie, chorizo and most other fresh sausages I use fatty pork. Summer sausage uses beef fat, etc etc.

Awesome! I love seeing this stuff on here! Ill close it up for you. -
Do some research online, lots of great sites to get sausage recipes from. The brats and different Italian sausage flavors I make from scratch blow the store bought seasoning packets away by a mile. The only premade packets I buy anymore are the LEM breakfast sausage ones. They are really good.

Ive had them make alot of tasty treats over the years. Been doing my own for 5 or 6 years now and dont really miss anything but his hot dogs. They are great. Ill probably make the trek up there this year for those. He is pricey though.

Im hoping this last cutting will be it for the year.

How about... " crossbows are archery equipment, there is no significant advantage to them other than the amount of practice to become proficient, and therefore they belong in archery season as another tool for people to use. " ....as well as many other answers scattered throughout this thread and every crossbow inclusion thread for the last few years on this site. Now that that part is cleared up, I have to ask, who are you to say what is a real bow and what isnt? Personally, I go by the definitions of what archery includes.

Yes it’s alot different than shooting or loading a rifle. A rifle is loaded by opening the action, inserting a bullet and closing the action. It can be done in a second. Crossbow, you have to get out the cocking device, attach it, position the crossbow so your foot goes through the stirrup, draw it, take your foot out, insert the arrow. Takes 30 seconds. Shooting a rifle is aim and pull the trigger. Can be done in very tight areas. Shooting the crossbow you have to worry about the limbs and how much space is around them, then you can aim and shoot. Effective range isn’t even comparable. With my compound, I can nock another arrow and be back on target before I got the crossbow drawn again.

Actually it can be reloaded and fired much faster than almost any crossbow. Have you ever used a crossbow? I own one, and Ill tell you right now, I can be ready for a follow up shot 5 times faster with my compound than with a crossbow. The crank ones do not crank very fast, and every one of them I have been around are loud when you are cranking them. The main reason why you have such devices to draw them is because they need to be drawn evenly or they can be damaged and wont shoot straight if they arent. There are one or two types of crossbows that are out there that are drawn using air power. Are they a crossbow, yes, do I think they should be allowed for hunting? Not really. I do think that the limitations of types of crossbows that you can use in NY is fine, just like there are limits put on types of compounds that can be used.
-
Crossbows do require you to draw them. If safety is a concern, can you provide statistics that show they are any less safe than other types of bows? The Air Bow is an air gun that fires an arrow. It has no limbs that store energy and the arrow is not released off of a string. The name is for marketing purposes.

Well that’s your opinion, and that’s fine, but your opinions don’t line up with the actual facts. It is actually considered archery equipment by definition. It is not a gun, regardless of you insinuating it is, and there has been a push to put them in archery seasons since the late 70s. Those are facts, not opinions.

I was given a Stealth for Christmas last year. It’s junk. If it wasn’t a gift I’d have gotten rid of it already. I’m currently using it to get pics of people driving trucks on the property, etc. I can’t identify any of the deer it gets pics of.

That’s IR. It’s easy to identify night pics of a white flash cam. They are in color and IR (of any type) is black and white.
