  1. I caught Sight of a deer slowly walking through some thick stuff about 150 yards away about 20 mins ago. Couldn’t tell what it was and lost sight of it.
  2. Looks delicious, but I cant Eat like that before I go out. I’d be having to take a dump by 9am lol. good luck guys!
  3. Exactly. It wasn’t a quiet walk in. Snow is super crunchy here. Plus I had to get the heater going early so the windows aren’t foggy by daylight. Learned that lesson last year.
  4. Evan and I are Up in the tower stand waiting for daylight. I have My Cuddeback white flash camera about 75 yards away and we keep seeing the flash go off. They are on their feet this morning. Good luck and be safe everyone!
  5. Yep. According to Cuddeback, you can get over 4 miles from daisy chaining them at 1 mile between each camera. Of course, thats going to be in a flat environment with little obstruction. Probably cut that in half for the type of terrain that we have in NY.
  6. It really depends on the terrain, obstructions, etc. Mine are in pretty heavily wooded areas with pretty good elevation changes. The furthest one I have from the base station is 600-700 yards or so, and it gets around 80% signal strength. Also, you can use cams as repeaters to increase total distance by kind of daisy chaining them.
  7. Im using my 6.5 Grendel this year with Hornady 123gr SST loads
  8. Dont let these guys BS you, we have no deer in Bristol
  9. I have a Spypoint, a couple of Spartans and some Cuddebacks. By far my favorite for picture quality are my Spartans. Love love love those cameras. Second would be my Cuddebacks, the Cuddelink feature is awesome, picture quality is great, but the down side to them is that unless you use them as individual cell cams, they dont send pics to your phone immediately. I have a home base unit on my deck and then cams in the woods throughout the property, and just check one card, which is awesome. The Spypoint, well, I cant say as I would recommend it really. Its a lower end cam as far as picture quality and picking up animals at a distance, and the cell service is more expensive than any other camera that I know of. I have been seeing and hearing alot of great stuff about the new Browning cell cams. I loved my browning regular cams I had, and am looking forward to getting my hands on one or two of the cell models at some point.
  10. Thats probably a low estimate. Think of how many hunters there are. I dont know of any or many that just run 1 cam. Add to that home security cameras, cell phone cameras, etc and the chances of one going unnoticed are minuscule. Hell, the one that wandered through from the west and ended up getting hit by a car in CT a few years back was well documented as he moved through the state.
  11. If you have practiced at that range, and are sure of your equipment, it shoudnt be an issue. That being said, paper targets are different than live targets, and different people have different reactions. The first buck I ever shot with my muzzleloader was 190 yards. I had practiced with that gun at that range alot, and knew that I just had to do my part.
  12. Same for me as it is in bow season, 3.5 year old or better. That carries through the whole season. Does will start becoming targets Thanksgiving week on my property.
  13. Finally got in my stand at around 2 today. The snow is disappearing here. Haven’t seen anything yet.
