How much difference is there between 12 and 13 yards with your bow? If you are missing because of 1 yard difference theres something else going on. The biggest factor why people miss from a treestand is that their anchor points change because they arent bending at the waist. Concentrate on your anchor points and youll miss alot less.

How Stupid do they "Think" we Are - Deer Hunting Aids
WNYBuckHunter replied to wztirem's topic in General Hunting
They arent deer droppings, they are pelletized scrape scent and they work pretty well. I made a few fake scrapes with them last year and deer were hitting them. At first I thought they were fake deer poop until I read up on them. -
Thats a funny video, the guy is a nut. Has nothing to do with smoking pot, hes just nuts lol.

Im attaching the spring clips to the lifelines rather than have one on my vest strap. I wear my vest into the woods, so I wouldnt want the clip hitting something and making noise on the way in. Good tip on the Dye, Ill pick that up tonight and get the rope dyed before I put it up tomorrow. -
sighting in my bow...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
WNYBuckHunter replied to 20ftupatree's topic in Bow Hunting
Well turns out you win!!!! I had my father in law come over and watch me, he took a piece of thread and marked the string (kisser) then fired and repeated, with this "new" bow I just got from him the draw and handling is way different than I was used with the whitetail hunter I shot last year. By the time I shot a dozen arrows I had 8 different pieces of thread on the string! I have it straightened out now .... shot and shot and shot found my spot and put a kisser on. Now I'm consistent with my draw anyways. sights are sighted in and dead on! quiver has been replaced, and I'm practicing every chance I get with this bow. Glad to hear you got it figured out! -
Wash your own hunting clothes for goodness sake. I wouldnt even WANT anyone else washing my hunting clothes.

Nah, its good that you talked sense into me. I have a daughter and a baby on the way and dont need to be falling out of trees. I picked up some 7/16 12 strand solid braid polyester rope. It has a 400lb work load with a 3000lb shock rating. The only thing that sucks is its white, but thats not that big of a deal. I got it for $25 for 100 feet. Should be enough to rig up 3 or 4 stands. I also picked up some new spring clips rated for 500lbs. The whole deal was still less than 1 of the HSS ropes. -
So how does the sperm get in the straw? ???
-
Heres what I do, it works pretty well. 1 - run one large load with scent free soap in washer. When soap and water are full, use a hand towel soaked in the water/soap and wipe down every part of the washer that isnt covered with water. (under lid, etc) Let the load run with a couple of towels. 2 - wipe down entire drier with scent free soap/water mix on towel and clean out lint trap as good as it can be done. 3 - dry towels in drier with scent killer drier sheet 4 - clean out lint trap as good as you can 5 - wash your hunting clothes. Sometimes I may run 2 loads of the towels and scent free before my hunting clothes go through.

wow, just wow. ???

Rechargeable Spotlights - Suggestions?
WNYBuckHunter replied to burmjohn's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I can see a pretty good ways with it. In my back yard it lights up the bushes 100 yards away very well. Ive never really tested it. Ill have to do that. -

Im looking at what has what rating now. I found some decent boat line for about 50 cents a foot that will handle close to 3000lbs. That should work. Now I have to go redo my lines. -
Ok, so maybe Im a little curious....

If the woods seem dead, do you grunt or rattle?
WNYBuckHunter replied to burmjohn's topic in General Hunting
Ive tried rattling with no success yet. Grunting, Ive had some, but its usually fawn bleats that work for me. I just got the can last year, tied it with no luck. -

Hmmm, food for thought. I might have to look at some better rope. The way I have mine is so that while Im climbing, Im only going to drop about a foot before it catches me, so I dont think the shock load would be that bad. When Im in my stand, its maybe 2 or 3 inches, I dont want to hang very far below the stand at all. -
I dont even want to know how you extract the semen. ???
-
My harness has a razor blade attached to it, held by a string in a pocket on the vest. Its like one of those plastic letter opener deals with the blade in it. Its for using if you get to hanging for long.

That is pretty funny when you think about it.

Just to be clear in case it's gone un-noticed, I didn't make any negative comments about crossbows or about those that are pushing them. I simply questioned the training requirements. So if there's anybody that needs to lighten up, I think there are a couple crossbow pushers that should actually at least try to pretend that there is some reason for personal attacks before they just jump in there with the attitude. Wouldn't ya think??? I'm trying to discuss things in some sort of reasonable and civil fashion per the other thread that dealt with civility and that sort of thing, but there are a couple of individuals that are purposely making that pretty hard. I was busting chops with Chevy. Just so ya know. Im with you though.

For any golfers out there
WNYBuckHunter replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in General Chit Chat
Ive seen that before. The problem with it is that the golf ball is fired at a completely rigid steel plate, which is nothing like a golf club, which itself flexes in the head, shaft and the hands, wrist, arms of the person swinging it. There are videos out there that show a ball being hit by a driver in slow motion, the ball does not do anything like what that video shows. Its way way way out of context lol. What the text says is pretty much true though. -
You sure do have a pretty high opinion of yourself sometimes. :
