Ahhhh, yes, but it wasnt directed towards anyone in particular. Generalized name calling is a whole different ball game. -

I wasnt implying that he did, it was just more of a commentary based off of the circustances Scot and I were talking about. Sorry to Doc if it came off that way. -

I already said I was wrong, didnt think I needed to spell it out for you. Youre not exactly the dimmest bulb in the box lol. I thought it was odd at the time, but if you took the info that was given by the media (bill on governor's desk) and added up how a bill passes (after 10 days on the governors desk without a signature), then it equals out to passage of the bill. Like I said, the media falsely reported the bill as being on the governors desk. Why are you trying to shoot the messenger here? LOL Apology accepted. I figured you might be a bit stressed out or something, you arent one to start throwing names out there so quickly lol. I hope your day gets better for ya! -

Doc, if you have the specific bill number, you can find its status. Let me see if I can dig that site up for you. -
Pretty much lol. Unless of course, you like replacing them all the time.

I know what I said, and I believe my last statement clarified things. Given the information that was handed out by the media and the way that NYS bills are passed, it seemed like the bill passed without signature. The media were the ones reporting the bill to be on the Governors desk when it wasnt. Care to tone down the attitude? Theres no need for you to start calling names, etc again. -

Doc, I agree that people have a right to keep people from hunting or 4 wheeling or whatever on their land, but to deny recovery of an animal that was clearly shot on adjoining property (not on the line) is just plain being a disrespectful a-hole. SteveB, I always get recovery rights and other permission worked out with the neighbors ahead of time for land that I hunt regularly, but my situation occurred on state land, in an area I dont normally hunt, so getting permission to recover ahead of time wasnt really an option. I just dont understand why people feel the need to be such a-holes to everyone else, Im not saying give permission for everyone to hunt your land, or allow people to constantly trespass or tear up your property, but come on. Have a little respect for people that try to show you respect. What the heck is the big deal with letting someone recover their deer if they shoot one and it runs onto your property and dies. **the last paragraph was not directed at anyone in particular lol -
Speaking of pumpkins, Ive also noticed some of the pumpkin fields around my area arent producing very big pumpkins, most of them are small. Fall turkey should be good this year. Im going to make a real effort at it this year.

Yes, I read that on one of the sites that had the bill spelled out. It was one of the major reasons to get them in. Was it the actual bill or a web site quoting the bill? I haven't seen that part yet but I didn't really look for that part. Weren't you guys claiming it was automatically passed even if the Gov. didn't sign it a few weeks ago? What happened to that ..lol OK next on the agenda... hand grenades, who wants them to hunt with besides me? It was a site that had the actual bill on it, all of the revisions actually. It would have been automatically passed if it sat on the Governor's desk for more than 10 days. Since it hadnt been formally submitted to his desk, it didnt automatically go through. If you actually opened and read the links that I and others posted that explained how the bills are passed, etc, youd get it. -
I usually see them in the spring, but they pop up now and then at other times. Craigslist rocks.

I have that same one. It works great, no problems in the wind. -
Hey Geno, I tried those a couple of years back. I bought the fletching jig after that.

Youd be surprised how many are around urban and suburban areas. -
I have to agree, that isnt baiting. I have had deer walk up on me when Im running a chainsaw as well. I almost dropped my saw once when I looked up only to see a buck peeking through the hedgerow at me lol.

They have been cutting it like crazy the last couple of days around here. Does it seem like the corn is browning up a little early? Half the time I remember the fields still standing when bow opener came around.
-
I have a Bohning jig. I have straight and helical setups for it. It works pretty good. I got it off of Archery Talk in the classifieds section for $20 I think.

Great pics!

Just a thought, but maybe you guys could find an RV fridge or two that would serve your purpose? I see them on Craigslist from time to time when people gut out campers, etc.

Property lines and shooting game......

If someone contacts me and asks permission to retrieve a deer, I will give them permission, and I may even escort them while they do it. I want to see the blood trail. My name & address are on the posted signs and I live on the property so that isn't a real hard thing to do. However, I will tell you that in the 40 years that I have lived there, no one has ever done that, so I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to ever happen. Those that do not ask permission, if caught, will be prosecuted. Doc Good deal. I agree with you as well. I do have to say though, that there are landowners that cause guys to not get permission because when asked, the landowner denies the guy from going to drag his deer off. Happened to me with my first ever buck at the age of 19. I shot a deer on state land, it ran 100 yards and died 30 yards onto private property. I knocked on the door and asked the guy very politely if I could drag my deer off of his property and back onto state land to field dress it. He not so kindly told me no. I explained that it was dead and only a few yards in, and my first buck, I again was told no followed by the door slamming in my face. I went and got a DEC officer (no cell phones back then) and had him come with me, the guy had the deer tagged and hanging in his garage. Nothing the DEC officer could do. So how many deer would you lose before you stopped asking for permission and just went and got the deer you shot? I'm guessing one. Say the same thing happened the following year on the same unreasonable land owners property. Are you going to tell me with sincere honesty that you would forfeit another animal? Please forgive me if you say yes because I would not believe it. As long as I could see the deer on that property, Id just hide my gun in the brush and go get my deer as quickly as possible. Now if it was a different landowner that I did not have a bad experience with, I still ask for permission first. You guys can bash me all you want for being honest. I dont care, at least Im honest. -
Its sighted in for 20, 30 and 40. After shooting the 3D course, I can shoot pretty accurate out to 45, I just hold the 40 yard pin a bit high. I really like the sight so far.
