WNYBuckHunter replied to Doewhacker's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Ive been looking at putting up a hang on this year and am going back and forth with the types of steps. Ill probably end up with the sectional ladder style. -

Deer Attractants, Toeing the Line or Crossing the Line
WNYBuckHunter replied to wztirem's topic in General Hunting
The only dishonesty is by the people that use it. GM says its illegal to use for baiting deer. Thats all they have to do. It is what it is. If people really want it, they will get it whether GM carries it or not. -
Property lines and shooting game......
WNYBuckHunter replied to First-light's topic in General Hunting
As long as I have permission to hunt it or shoot over the line, I do. If I dont have permission, I dont. Unless a neighbor was a jerk to me, I wouldnt have an issue letting him/her hunt the line or retrieve deer. -
Those videos are great. I gotta go look for more now lol.

If you get the Utah permit, those states (with the stars) will honor them. It costs a bit more than the PA license though, and you have to take a class.

Im just about ready, gonna go get the blind up and finish trimming lanes this weekend. I need a bit of practice on my bow yet, and I want to try shooting out of my popup blind this year. The weather sure is feeling good and the bucks are out of velvet. Beans are yellowing up and leaves are starting to really change. Theres a maple tree on my way to work thats almost completely not green.

I dont even know what to say other than I cant take the guy seriously. He cant even say Rhinoceros.

Here she is! I took this after I got done sighting her in. I still have to tweak it a bit after the string is broke in, but Im shooting 2 or 3 inch groups out to 40 as it is now. Im going to shoot it for the rest of the week and then really start dialing it in this weekend, the string should be all set by then. Ill take a couple of closeups of the servings that Rich at Bullzeye did on it, pretty cool work.

My bow is done! I got the call from the shop today and Ill be picking it up on the way home. Pics of the new strings will be coming up shortly! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! WoooHooo!

Deer Attractants, Toeing the Line or Crossing the Line

Right, like C'mere Deer, Deer Cane and the sort, not a scrape dripper or scented dirt. -
Deer Attractants, Toeing the Line or Crossing the Line
WNYBuckHunter replied to wztirem's topic in General Hunting
If its made for deer to consume, then yes. If its just an attractant (example Buck Bomb, scrape dripper, scented soil) are not meant for the deer to consume, so it would be legal. -
Deer Attractants, Toeing the Line or Crossing the Line
WNYBuckHunter replied to wztirem's topic in General Hunting
First off, I wasnt taking a shot at you, but if the shoe fits.... The reasoning behind my comments is simple, the subject started out as asking if scents are baiting, they arent, so we arent talking about doing anything illegal. There is no fine line, its pretty clear and simple. If deer cant eat it, its not bait. And Ill try and find the other thread, but Im almost sure we discussed almost the exact same thing recently. -
The Bills arent moving to Toronto. Good grief. I hate the Bills and only watch their games because theres nothing else on, plus I like to watch them lose. Im no Jets fan or Giants fan for that matter. Im not even going to say what I think of Sanchez, basically hes a scumbag IMO and shouldnt even be playing the game. Do some research on his college years and youll know why I think that. It was a fun game to watch last night though.

Deer Attractants, Toeing the Line or Crossing the Line
WNYBuckHunter replied to wztirem's topic in General Hunting
Didnt we just go over this a couple of weeks ago? LOL Scent is not bait. Doc, what the heck is deer hoarding, I have never heard that term. Why would trying to lure a deer into your hunting area be a bad thing? As long as you do it legally, whats the problem? Saying that would be saying that just about any tactic for attracting deer would be bad. Calls, rattling, decoys, etc etc. I always get a kick out of people that put other hunters down for using legal means to hunt deer. -
HAHA I just had to chase 2 of them out just now so I could let the dogs out. They wouldnt leave so I had to actually walk out there and clap. They must have really been enjoying the apples.
-
The thing I would do to help out would be to try and get ahold of my dog before it went anywhere near the deer. Now if that was happening to my dog, I wouldnt go near it until the deer left. That would be asking to get my ass kicked by a deer lol. We have deer out in our back yard alot of the time. Most mornings I watch them eating apples right outside of the kitchen window while Im making coffee. I always make sure there are no deer around before I let the dogs out to do their business. Ill even open and close the back door a few times to scare them out of the yard.
