  1. Thats been around a couple of years, its nice, but costs $200. I love how you have to pay out the @ss to be safe ;D
  2. Cool gun, but for 45g's, it had better make me breakfast.
  3. Oh come on guys, those arent boars, they are wild hogs. Their website shows they have both. When you go to one of these places, you shouldnt think that its a natural style hunt, you are hunting exotic animals after all. I have no problem going to these places, they are what they are and I think it would be a fun shoot with plenty of table fare as the pay off. Do I think they are real hunting? No.
  4. If you have a bolt action or break open gun, just open it or take the bolt out and line the scope up by looking through the barrel, point it at an object, then line your scope up with that object, it should get you close. Then just sight it in on the range. If its a semi auto or some other gun you cant do the look down the barrel trick to, take it to a shop or pick up a bore sight, then dial it in on the range.
  5. Cool. Yeah Ill get some pics up soon. We got some rain today, so that should kick things in. I think the forecast is showing 3 or 4 days of sunny weather. Id guess it will be sprouting up by next week. Ill be going over there tomorrow to put the trail cam up, there were way too many skeeters out there the other night lol.
  6. Yep, both of those are still there. I always get a buffalo burger with grilled onions.
  7. Yep, its kinda tough to get 260 sometimes, I just make sure I keep it around and take more than one box with me to camp. One of my very good friends has the twin gun to my TC Encore and I have seen him literally tip deer over at 150 yards with it. They usually dont run more than 20 yards if that. Hopefully Ill get to test mine out on a deer or two (or more) this year.
  8. I dont think it got bad at all, not even close. Some of the forums I look at get downright nasty at times.
  9. Culver, I didnt mean they wouldnt physically work, I meant that I heard it was illegal to do in NY. What I heard was that you had to buy the frame as a pistol originally, but it didnt really make sense to me and I wasnt worried about it. You are correct on the barrels being listed on the permit. Each barrel is listed with the serial number of the frame. Ive never shot a 44 mag, so Im not sure. If you are in the area and wanted to meet up and run a few rounds though it, you are more than welcome to do so.
  10. Get a mzzle loader, you can use them in regular firearms season, or get a handgun that can handle rifle cartridges, thats what I did, and I can reach way out further than a shotgun, almost as far as a rifle. Theres always more than one way to skin a cat!
  11. Alot of those guys just like to buy new stuff every year or two. I dont know how they all afford it lol. I bought a bow for my Fiance off of there, it was a same year shop demo, practically brand new, for half the cost of new. When I buy a new one, thats where Im looking. You cant beat the deals on there.
  12. Theres a video on the site showing them shooting it off of a Lead Sled at targets at 200 yards. they also show the groups.
  13. NYB always has a little archery range for the kids. Crosman has had a pellet gun range for a few years now as well.
  14. Why is that scary? Rifles are accurate at and past that distance, so nothing different. There are other shotguns that can shoot out at those distances.
  15. Nice gun, but at $1200 plus the price that sabots cost, Ill stick with my handgun or a rifle, which will shoot better at those ranges and cost alot less to shoot.
  16. Ive spent a bunch of time fishing both lakes, you just have to know where to go and how deep. Im not allergic to poison ivy, and the other stuff you are talking about is hog weed or something like that.
  17. Got anything to back that up? What you profess is exactly what they said in PA, but it didnt happen. Oh wait, why do I bother asking, of course you dont. ;D One thing is certain is that the deer harvest will increase during the archery season and the state stands to gain monetarily from taxes on sales of crossbow equipment. Perhaps they will require that a hunter purchase a special crossbow tag.In the end,the DEC only cares about the number of deer killed during the open season for deer. For me, it does not matter if crossbows are legalized, I am content to continue bow hunting with a recurve, besides I am too cheap to spend an inordinate sum of money on the equipment. Yep, I hear ya. I wont be buying a crossbow right away, but one of these days I probably will. Mine will probably be a recurve model with no scope, just open sights or a red dot with no magnification. Im good with my compound and I will add a recurve to my stable before a crossbow.
  18. I love it, Ive gotten pretty good with it out to 200 yards so far. The recoil is worse than my 40, but it is a rifle round lol. You get used to it. You might want to make sure you can put the pistol barrel and grip on an Encore frame that didnt come as a pistol. I thought I heard that you cant legally do that, but dont take my word for it, I just heard it and have never confirmed it.
  19. Holy crap that looks like more fun than sporting clays! Better have your HSS buckled up though lol ;D
  20. Got anything to back that up? What you profess is exactly what they said in PA, but it didnt happen. Oh wait, why do I bother asking, of course you dont. ;D
  21. The sanctioning bodies have nothing to do with selling anything, they set the rules, etc for archery competitions, records, etc. Maybe you ought to do a little research into the facts before spouting off. BTW, they havent been legalized for use in any season yet. Again, check your facts. Good luck with your venture, Im afraid youll end up disappointed in the end though, as its only a matter of time before they are included in archery season.
  22. Nope, the firewood thing is the only thing I have heard of. The state is taking advantage of this, anyone that camps in a state park will know it too. Not only can you not bring firewood with you if you live outside the 50 mile radius, but you now have to fill out forms to buy firewood from the people with their little stands right around the parks. They are making it a pain in the butt for people to get firewood anywhere other than in their camp stores, where it is expensive. Just another NY money grab. Not moving the firewood is not going to be effective at stopping the beetles.
  23. Print that link out and take it to the C/T that wouldnt sell you the seed and ask to talk to a manager. Give them the print up and the link written down and let them know that they might want to read the law before refusing a sale.
