  1. Ya know, a facebook page would be a good thing for getting the word spread about the page.
  2. This wasnt the beginning of it, the downfall of the DC ban started to give the movement traction a couple of years ago. The NY bans are doomed.
  3. They arent robbing anyone of anything. You dont have to get them, its optional unless you are getting new plates. Keep your old ones if you are worried about it. :
  4. One of these days Id like to head out to the eastern part of the state to hunt them.
  5. Actually it puts no less pressure on the deer if the hunter is sloppy and doesnt be careful about entering and exiting the stand location, as well as playing the wind and hunting a stand only during the right wind direction for it. As soon as you step foot in the deer woods, you are pressuring them.
  6. They are nowhere near their final growth yet, they are growing at an inch per day right now in some cases. You can usually tell when they are slowing down, the ends of the beams/points start to lose that ball look at the ends. Its not even July guys, theres a good 2 whole months of antler growth left lol.
  7. Nothing to worry about out there. Even if there are bears in the area, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than attacked by a bear or yote in NY. There are no other predators that you would have to remotely worry about.
  8. No hunting stickers on the vehicles, lots of them on my toolbox in the garage though.
  9. You should have said that to begin with, because your posts alluded that the deer were taken in NY as a result of AR in your area.
  10. It will have stopped a few days before the velvet starts to fall off. Heres a link explaining it all... http://www.whitetailstewards.com/articlesonsite/deerbiology/antlergrowthandphysiology.htm
  11. That buck has a ways to go, he might be a decent 8 by the time hes done. That one photo that you are wondering what the animal is, it looks like a fox.
  12. Heres a pic I took one evening with my cell phone of the field on 251 and 65. There were probably a hundred deer out there, this was just a few of them.
  13. Wrong ! It's a field on Sheldon Road south on Mendon Ponds Park . Here is the field you are thinking of at the NE corner of 65 & 251 Ok, I know where that one is too. Its amazing how many deer are in that park. They really should do a limited tag deal like Webster started doing.
  14. I felt a little bad for the dog, because it was so far away, but I wish that cat got its ass whipped more. I hate cats with a passion and did you see the way it was acting toward that fawn? If the doe wasnt there, it would have tried going after the fawn. The owner of that dog was stupid to not keep it away though.
  15. Yep, make sure you have good, local factory rep. If you need to deal with warranty issues, it can be a big pain to ship your bow or drive a long way to have it worked on. Shoot as many bows as you can and make your mind up based on which one you feel most comfortable with. I would not buy a bow based on it looking cool or good advertising. I know its tough not to do that, but believe me, youll be much happier in the end. Before you buy one at a shop or store, check the classified on Archerytalk.com, you can find great deals on just about any bow you want. Me, Ill be in the market for a Hoyt Alphamax/Alpha Burner/Maxxis pretty soon. Ive shot all three and they are great, the Maxxis is my favorite though, by far the smoothest bow Ive ever shot.
  16. Ill almost guarantee I know who you took your bow to in Henrietta. Hes usually good. The Hoyt shop in Bloomfield is Bullzeye Archery, right behind the Carhart shop. Those guys are great, I swear by them. I have had them tune my bow and never had any issues. Their range is great and their prices are pretty damn good. Ill be sticking with them.
  17. Thats the field on the corner of 65 and 251, just north of the round-a-bout, right? Those deer are there every evening. I have some pics around here somewhere from a couple of years ago with snow on the ground. Its a couple miles right up the road from my house. BTW, those deer are fed by one of the homeowners right near there, and they arent hunted, which is why they just sit there if you stop your car.
  18. I went out a few times this year. Took my fiance's 13yr old cousin with one time. Didnt see anything though. The other day I was driving my daughter back to her mom's and we saw a momma turkey with 8 or 9 babies following behind her on the side of the road. It was pretty cool and my daughter loved it.
  19. Maybe you want to retract your photos and statements? Did you forget or just neglect to notice the Texas tag on the deer? I call BS on those pics and probably your whole story on here so far. >
  20. Dont get me wrong, Im not slamming PSE. I have always had great luck with my PSE bows, its just that there is not good factory support nearby, and I shoot too much to be without my bow for going on 7 months now. Hopefully it takes a week or two at most once I get it over to the other shop. There is a Hoyt dealer down the road from me (the place with the nice 3D range) that is just a kick ass shop, so Ill go with Hoyt to get great factory backed service.
  21. Its funny how they almost seem to not want to do business, isnt it? None of their phones work anymore either.
  22. One of my buddys uses one. I just wouldnt feel right sticking anything up a deer's butt lol
  23. Good lord that just seems wrong lol
  24. I went over to the shop that has had my bow for 6 or 7 months to check how it was coming along and they gave me the same ol line "still waiting on parts from PSE". Well, they didnt know that I have been talking to PSE support and 2 of their local reps and found out that this shop has a reputation for being problematic with customers, and that they never made any warranty claim on my bow based on serial number. I called them on it and asked for my bow back. Its in pieces. Axle, clips, cam, string, cable, peep, kisser, etc all in a zip loc bag. > Now I have to take the bow to another PSE shop (1/2 hr away in Churchville) and have everything sent there (PSE is covering the repair). Its too bad that PSE doesnt have better factory support out my way, Ive always liked their bows, but I dont want to drive 1/2hr one way to have my bow worked on. I guess Ill be making the switch to Hoyt when I get a new bow. They have a fantastic shop just around the corner from me. Oh, and I will drop the shop's name that had the bad service. Maybe Ill save someone else aggravation. The shop is Shooter's Supply in Bloomfield. This is the one thats a gun and archery shop in the big red barn looking building at the four corners in Bloomfield. F them, I hope they go out of business.
