That sucks. I just bought a beef heart myself, I was coming here to read ideas and recipes. Hope it works out for your dogs or yourself.

Garlic is coming up I counted out 120 of the 130 cloves I planted are up. Peppers, okra, celery, eggplant, tomatoes, Asparagus and flowers are probably a week away from being transplanted. So far so good on my end.

A gallon and a half of syrup! Learned a ton this year with a little to go. I also learned if you want to finish the syrup indoors on a stove top when you forget about it for a minute or so your wife gets really mad when your kitchen is full of smoke and you ruin your boil. That might have happened twice this year. Filled two of these today.

Made some corned beef in the slow cooker last night. I've never made it like that but boy was it good. My wife and dad were happy campers. I have the cooking day off today as a reward. Watching everyone cook meatballs, chicken cacciatorre, among other Italian dishes. I'm suffering from a slight hangover so I can't wait to shove my face full of food later.

These guys supply Adam's Fair Acre farms which I didn't know until I asked about his hat. I thought is was super cheap as well not sure why. He text me a picture of the price sheet with available cuts and how thick. Like I said I was super impressed. Very clean butcher shop as well.

Not dinner yet but I bought a half cow (440 pound) at $3.55 a pound. I highly recommend this place (Google pine plains butcher shop). I assume beef prices are going to skyrocket so I went big. Very easy to work with and the best ground beef I've had around here. The butcher even gave me a few extras Hanger steak, heart and some sausage. If anyone wants to verify the butcher pm me and I will send the info.

Anyone ever use cattle panels as trellises? I'm open to how to use them but thinking of arches for tomatoes and cucumbers.

Poaching will wise not so sure about hunters. I'm picking up half a cow (400 pounds) this week. After that runs out it should be hunting season. That said I always set the bar at two and hope for three or four.

Great couple days in Orange county. Each five gallon bucket was filled just from the last two days. After my last boil tonight I will be at one gallon which was my goal.

I have Asparagus and Celery germinating. Peppers will get started after dinner tonight. The big change this year is an eight foot wire garden fence being installed. After two years of fighting with the local deer heard it was time to spend some money on a real fence. Okra is a new one for me hope it grows well.
