The Bear Outbreak is a nice little bow that will kill deer all day long. My friend has one similar to it. You may need to add some silencing to quiet the bow down but its a good bow.

Absolutely nothing. But it encourages people to shoot what they want and enter it and not spend their evenings spot lighting the local fields for "Mr. Big" just for the sake of money. Unfortunately money or large prizes can bring out the worst in people.

I'm in what is called a "Lucky Buck" contest. All you need to do is shoot a buck and you are in a drawing to win. The $10 fee goes to prizes and a party. Antler points have no bearing on the outcome. If you enter a contest where the biggest buck wins, then all you are doing is promoting poaching and spot lighting.

With the snow and cold the deer seemed to start bunching up. Never saw deer in groups of 3-4, most were 10+. Combine that with peak rut and the bucks are there also. One group of deer (about 15) that went by me Friday had 3 bucks, a spike, an 8, and a 12. Unfortunately my buck tag was spent or I would have had the buck of a lifetime.

A few years ago I ordered my Hoyt. While he was setting up my new bow the shop owner said, "have you tried one of these? I just got them in." I drew it and knew I had bought the wrong bow. My next bow after I get my kids outfitted will be an Elite.

I never cared for Sluggers because they always pancaked. I switched to Brennekes and never looked back. They will mushroom a bit but they will never pancake. They will pattern so much better than the Sluggers because the wad remains attached. Give them a try.

I really like the .348 grain Powerbelts and I have intention of switching. I too shoot from a hawken style rifle with 80 gr. of pyrodex. Never had a bullet fragment and every shot a pass through. Here is a question. Have you been cleaning the plastic residue after every 5-8 shots? That will screw up your patterning. CVA makes a solvent for this.
