  1. When our camp got robbed we put out the word in the local bars that we are offering a reward. It wasn't a week that the scum was selling our stuff for Meth. He is now sitting in jail. I would also put an ad in Craigslist asking folks to check any treestands bought for your name. Hope you get your stands back.
  2. Yeah, I met these pro AR clowns at the sportshow. I second his motion...stop shoving it in our face!
  3. Here is a neat link! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjcxs88PxmI
  4. 1) Middle school Technology Teacher (shop teacher) 2) Was an apprentice cabinet maker and someone said I would be a good teacher. 3) Yes and no. I used to really enjoy my job. I've done it for 23 years. It was fun to work with inner city kids and build neat projects together and give them a meaningful education. Unfortunately the NYC Dems have stripped us of funding and Emperor Andy's new reg's for teachers has made our schools a joke. The pointless extra testing that means absolutely nothing wastes the students and my time. DO NOT get into public education!!!
  5. Mmmmmm and and wrapped around some fresh mozzarella cheeeeese..nom, nom, nom.
  6. When I cut up my deer, anything that is scrap or does not have a purpose is ground after I am done processing the rest of the deer. I personally grind all the meat from both front shoulders. After grinding, I measure out 1 and 1.5 pound portions. I put it in plastic food storage bags (not zip-lock), twist the top then wrap it in freezer paper.
  7. Got mine up a few weeks ago. A gentleman in Adams is selling them for $5. I like your idea and will mark mine as well but I dought it mine will be stolen.
  8. Guy near Hamilton was setting up his tree stand 3-4 weeks ago and fell. Broke 3 ribs and several vertebae. Never told anyone where he was going and they had a terrible time trying to find him after dark.
  9. If you happen to check back, I got that bow for my son and he likes the bow very much. Its a little tricky getting the draw length set-up but other than that a great bow.
  10. This forum doesn't like my pics. Hoyt Turbohawk Extreme sight QAD HD Sights Qwickee Quiver (soon to be ex-quiver) Tru-fire Hurricane fold back release Carbon Express Maxima Hunters 100 gr. Slick Trick Mag. heads
  11. I have a Tru-fire Hurricane with the fold back buckle. I really like the adustability of the release. Plus that fold back option is super sweet!!!!
  12. Thanks everyone! Hope to have some pictures to share soon.
  13. If you have children another option would be adding a line. I put my mom and dad (both in their 70's) on my verizon account. The two of them only cost me $20 a month and they got free phones.
  14. I got a string stopper for my 5 year old Hoyt and it was amazing how much noise it cut down. Switchbacks are awful quiet, couldn't hurt. How much are these parts going to run you? Would it be worth it to get a new bow. I picked up a Switchback recently and I never realized how heavy they were till now.
  15. The breeder is 3 hours south of where I live, so he probably won't be able to help. Can you guys recommend a good set of videos? I see there are some shorts on Youtube.
  16. Here is my new hunting dog Lucy. She is a pure bred English Setter. (I tried to post pictures of Lucy but my photos from the Realtree Forums are apparently not worthy here. I get a You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.) So Anyway......... Lucy's dad is a 3 time field trial champion from the famous Grouse Ridge Kennels in Oxford NY. Because her dad had an "indiscretion" with a female setter with no papers I was able to pick her up for the incredible price of $25. Lucy will be 6 months old on the 15th and she spends her days pointing EVERYTHING in my yard. My problem is that I have no idea how to harness all of that genetic skill and get her pointing the important things. My dad had a Viszla when I was kid and I never saw it trained. Can any of you recommend some sort of training tool, video, Youtube page, or anything that can assist me with training her. She is so talented and I don't want to screw her up by doing this all wrong. My little girl will be 12 this fall and I would like to make Lucy a great grouser. Thanks, Joe
  17. I have to agree with the guys above, stay away from Stealth Cam. Cuddieback has horrible customer service. Wildgame Innovations make fair cameras but they have exchanged every camera that has broke on me without any questions. My next cam will probably be a Covert.
  18. We were turkey hunting in the spring of 1995. It was Mothers Day and snowing. Out of the blue this young buck just walked up to us. We fed him crackers and he followed us around for a while.
  19. I have a BLR Lightning in .243. I absolutely love the gun and in a couple more years it will be my daughters rifle. Light weight, super smooth action, well balanced, and easy to shoot. I cannot say enough good things.
  20. Traditionally that is the best weekend of the year for steelhead on theSalmon River. Most of the salmon are covered with white patches and uneatable by then.
  21. My favorite has always been Realtree Hardwoods but you cannot get it anymore http://www.realtree.com/camo/realtree-camo-patterns/realtree-hardwoods-hd Your purchase reminds of some of the Mossy Oaks original patterns. I also like Lost Camo but its so dang expensive.
  22. I agree! Bought my first bow about now, 8 years ago. Practiced every chance I got. A month later on Columbus Day I shot a turkey from a ground blind. My advise, would be to start out at a low poundage that is easy to draw until you get your archery muscles loosened up. My first bow was a Mission X3. Mission bows are excellent bows that are made by Mathews and are geared for first time archers like yourself Have fun and congrats on the 100!
