  2. My first bow was a Mathews because it was a Mathews. For my next bow I thought I would try a Hoyt and it has been good to me. However on the day I got my new Hoyt, while the shop owner was setting it up, he said, "Try this one while you are waiting, we just got them in". I did an OMG, what an awesome bow. It was an Elite and it WILL BE my next bow!
  3. The only way I see this getting repealled is to get a republican governor.
  4. You certainly chose a great place to hunt. Good deer populations in that area. I highly recommend some trail cam scouting in September. How many acres did you lease? Also, get to know your neighbors!!!
  5. May be a little tricky from a phone. Get on a computer and click on your name.
  6. Wow! Just down the road from me. An 8 point from that area IS a real trophy!
  7. Very nice! Love the chocolate horns. Did you shoot him in the N. Tier?
  8. My babygirl will get a kick out of this.
  9. Turd! They let him off easy the first time. Bet they hammer him hard this time around.
  10. I have the regular Primos Buck Roar. IMHO it is the best grunt call on the market. Good luck with your new goodies.
  11. That's another good point. If you are getting sweaty walking into your watch, you need something to wick that away. Cotton long johns and t-shirts won't do that and you will get clammy and cold. That is why I love the Under Armour cold gear. If I get seaty, it wicks away and I'm dry in a few minutes.
  12. Are you bow or gun hunting? There are so many choices out there and you can spend a ton of money. I have found that a great base layer like Under Armour then layering up with a good wind breaker has been a better bet for me. Also I use a facemask. I get at least en extra hour in the stand just because of that.
  13. Been processing my own for over 20 years. The best part is the satisfaction that you know where your meat has been, that every part of the deer will be utilized, and that it is cut EXACTLY the way you like it. There will be some investment. Buy TOP quality knives and a sharpener, a decent electric grinder and a large cutting board. After you cut your first couple deer you will realize how easy it is.
  14. Looks like this weekend will be a sap flowing weekend if it warms up enough. I have maple syrup every morning on my oatmeal. I salute you guys who have the time to make the yummy stuff. I have a sugar bush on my property, I just wish I had the knowledge on how to make it.
  15. Bet we don't see the ammo background check till after elections.
  16. My babygirl is 12 and will be heading to the field with me this year. I want to get her a little 20 ga. to get her started. I'm presently looking hard at the Mossberg Bantam. But I don't want to miss any possible choices. I was wondering, what are you other dad's buying for your kids first shotgun? She wants to hunt turkeys this spring and all sorts of small game this fall.
  17. If it snows hard, you will find me in the hemlocks. The deer will be in there seeking shelter from the snow.
  18. Yup! http://obits.syracuse.com/obituaries/syracuse/obituary.aspx?pid=169739979
  19. I'm going to share this one!
  20. Hi Katelinn and welcome to the forums. I know there are several members here who frequent that range. I hope you find some help. Wish I lived a little closer or I would help out.
  21. Right now is their off season. Should start back up in July I think. I will find out.
  22. Where is all your snow???!!! I cannot wait to see grass again.
