Yup, try pinching the nock. Or you can add a few more wraps of serving string.

Darn close but I say no. Left beam is different.

Salt block is legal in the off season. Just cannot hunt over it. That is what was explained to me by an ECO.

Had friend send me a gopro video of 3 bucks fighting. Is that you Joe?

I know there are quite a few Slick Trick fans on here. Wasn't sure if you had heard about this. http://www.slicktrick.net/node/104 Had the opportunity to chat with him via email once. Businessmen like him are few and far between.

I shoot a 4 blade Slick Trick magnum which has a 1-1/8" blade. You can look at it and think, "dang that sure seems small", but look at the hole it makes in a deer. It is bigger than that of a shotgun slug hole.

Dude... Punctuation. Try again.

Remember scent trails can work against you as well. Four years ago I witnessed a buck hit my scent trail, get all gitty, and track me back to the truck. It can go both ways. I used Ever Calm 2 years ago. I got the liquid form from their web page. The stuff stinks something fierce. I really didn't notice anything special.

I NEVER enter the woods unarmed for just that reason. Had a small pack of wild domesticated dogs turn on me once.

First, keep an eye on all your local craigslistings. Two hit the local bars with word of a reward. Our theives were selling our stuff around town for meth money. Lastly, go to ebay and buy a $10 parts camera. Stick it where they can see it and post a camera from the tree tops down on it. I forget who, but one company makes a camera where you can change the angle it shoots.

Nice pics Joe. Are you using aluminum arrows?

That is sooooo AWESOME!!! She will never ever forget this day. I know my daughter can remember every detail of our first hunt together 7 years ago.

Timeline for processing deer in the warmer weather
RangerClay replied to Dorsilfin's topic in Bow Hunting
I process my own. Years ago I started peeking in craigslist for an old fridge. I got a cheap one for $10. I keep it clean and only fire it up for parties, deer season or cold stabilizing wine. Remove your innies, backstraps, quarter the legs, and peel the neck as you like it. Put the meat in the fridge till you are ready to start cutting. -
Thanks Guys! I will give those ideas a try. Hey Joe, I your new boots are neoprene, they may not smell as bad. But be thankful, you have the best cover smell of all.....cow poo.

Gee that sucks. I guess you can count your blessings that you were not hurt.

I need new rubber hunting boots in the worst way. Unfortunately they're not on sale in the summer, but they are now. If I go pick them up, is there a way get rid of that new rubber smell quickly?

I've been using a climber for about 10 years. I prefer ground blinds and ladder stands but I have one property that I cannot trust a stand left alone for days on end. What I like to do is go in the night before and set it up. That way it is waiting for me in the morning. Once I start to climb, if my platform starts to level off before I reach my desired height, I back down and re-adjust. Try not to climb over 15' or your platform angle at the start will be too steep to begin climbing.

Where I buy my sweetcorn, they say the coyotes are almost as big a problem as the coons. I was shocked to learn that coyotes eat corn.

My opening day was the 28th. I forgot to spray down before I left.. Fortunately the wind was in my favor.

The 32 win special was originally designed to be a black powder cartridge to replace the 32-40 but have the same velocity as a 30-30. I have one myself and I keep it as a collector.
