  1. Good to hear! i was concidering them for my young son and durability was a key factor.
  2. Im on there as Saint Hubert. I go there if I need to find out some info on a new product. I really enjoy the video from the ATA Show, makes me feel like I'm there. When I need a good laugh I go to Mutantville.
  3. I'm in need of some extra cash. I have an LL Bean gift card valued at $84.12. I'm asking $60.00 tyd. That will be almost $25 in free merchandise for the lucky person who buys this. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. This would make a great Mothers Day present for the Mrs.
  4. It would DQ you from entering a buck in Pope & Young.
  5. My first bow was a Mission. Great little bow. Easy draw and fairly quiet. If it was me, and I was leaning towards the Venture, I would get the Riot instead. Being that the Riot is adjustable, it would make it much more marketable when I was ready to sell it. Your Venture is set-up for 1 draw length. The Riot could be sold to almost anybody or even passed down to one of your kids because of its adjustability.
  6. Join an archery league. Nothing like a lot of practice to make you more proficient. Plus you will be around other archers that can critique your form.
  7. Had to send a lightweight (5 pounds) but large package last month. USPS quoted me $65 and my jaw hit the floor. Went to FedX....$28. Much better!
  8. I have an autographed Ben Lee box call that has served me well since 1980 and has killed a bunch of birds. However I have been playing with a Primos Jackpot the last 3 years and I really like it a lot.
  9. While I was waiting for the Hoyt I ordered to come in, the dealer got in a line of Elite bows. OMG! Was my first thought. If I could have afforded it I would have bought it on sight. Smooth draw, amazing back valley, and very creep resistant. My next bow will definately be an Elite. Plus they are a NY company so you are helping NY jobs.
  10. I have never been very hip on used bows on-line for you never know what will show up. For the money take a peek at a Mission Riot. It's fully adustable to meet most draw lengths and it's made by one of the best in the business, Mathews. The bow costs $399 which is the price of most used bows and you get a lifetime warantee. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your search and post pics of your new bow.
  11. Wish they would do something like that in NY.
  12. A new countdown clock for bow season?? Somebody asked me yesterday, how many days till deer season. I said, I know just the place to ckeck and there was no clock. These forums used to have all the countdown days on a side bar that I really enjoyed. Can a Mod at least put a clock back up in here?
  13. Can you be more clear? By blind do you mean pop-up blind? In my pop-up blind I have a nice lawn chair. The hard part is finding one that won't squeek or creek when it gets cold. In my tree stand I have a bucket with a swivel top.
  14. For me, the most realistic show out there is Fred Eichler's Easton Bowhunting TV. I really enjoy that it is so down to earth and not hunting for monster bucks. Fred is often kidded about what others call "Fred Bucks" because he would rather shoot a crotch horn or scrub buck. Just a simple recurve bow with plenty of skill and tons of emotion. Check it out sometime on the Sportsmans Channel.
  15. I switched to the smaller blazer vanes because my wisker biscuit would destroy my longer vanes. I like the blazers better.
  16. That's what I was going to say. Deer hate manure.
  17. Thanks but I'm not looking for a hip quiver.
  18. I've had this Quikee Quiver for years and I cannot stand it. The rubber is so stiff. It's hard to put arrows back in it and when I try to pluck an arrow from it I get a "pop" noise. Not to mention it usually causes my mechanical heads to pop open when I try to get an arrow. What are some quivers that you are having success with? I'm shopping for a 5 arrow quiver that is somewhat compact and allows a shooter to add/remove arrows effortlessly. Any suggestions?
  19. I have the Simms string leaches on mine. They are ok. I have been wanting to try the bowjax stuff but my archery shop doesn't carry the line. You will be happy with your Outlaw, its a great bow. You can't beat the 80% let-off.
  20. Ok...I'll rephrase. Daylight movement of decent deer comes to a stop. I will see plenty of small does and fawns.
