  1. Have you ever visited Archerytalk.com forums? There are some some great DIY arrow saw plans on there.
  2. I shoot the exact bow that you have. Go with the Slick Trick mags and you won't use any other broadhead again. I have been using Slick Tricks for 8 years this fall. They are awesome to say the least. Every shot has been a complete pass through. They shoot just like field tips so you won't have re-adjust your sights. Scary sharp. Very inexpensive broadheads to shoot. I fell for the Rage hype a four years ago and it was a disaster. I've gone back to Tricks and that is all I will ever shoot at deer.
  3. I have a thread about this in the political room.
  4. Since my daughter is not old enough to date. Here is a web page I follow because I have a daughter. http://www.fromdatestodiapers.com/50-rules-for-dads-of-daughters
  5. I was not aware of this. I may have to join them afterall.
  6. ME!! I made phone calls and wrote emails. I spoke with most of the Conservation committee. I don't believe a special interest group fought this bill but some certainly tried to sneak this bill through.
  7. Thanks WNY! was working from a Mac earlier and that thing is a PITA. My apologies. If you look at the link its correct but takes you elsewhere.
  8. While in principle I agree with the signs, to me it says, "Hey thieves, there's guns in my house!"
  9. Thanks Northern Tier Partner! Maybe our trails will cross one of these days!
  10. http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2013/06/proposed_antler_restriction_bi.html Serves them right! A well written article Mr. Figura!
  11. No freaking way would I allow it to get that close to me. Did anyone else besides me see how thin the stand straps were. One slip of a claw and he's bear poo.
  12. Yup and it looks like we are getting something new next year.
  13. +1 That's where I get mine. Plus get on their "Score Card" program and you will get some super coupons to cut the costs even more.
  14. Get a ladder up there and you're good to go!
  15. Go to a book store or Gander Mountain and get this book http://www.amazon.com/Eastern-All-Outdoors-Atlas-Field-Guide/dp/1885010788 It will show you every square inch of state land in NYS. They make one for eastern and western NY. Get the one that is best for your area.
  16. Sorry for your lost stuff Phade. Hope things take an upswing for you.
  17. I'm glad you are having success with your new plot. Here is my suggestion since I have a plot almost the exact same size in hardwoods like you. Open up the canopy and you will not believe the amount of growth you will have. A couple hours of solid direct sunlight works wonders. If the canopy is too high for a saw and ladder you can do 2 things. I would either hinge cut a few trees away from the plot. Or girdle a few trees so they don't get leaves then cut them up for firewood. Sell the firewood to pay for seed and such.
  18. I realize I'm a day late but ...yup...that's a milk snake. Great rodent exterminator. Unfortunately if it was in my yard it would die.
  19. I know how you feel. I have nobody in my circle of hunters that bow hunts so I am on my own. I just got my son a Diamond Infinite Edge. I plan to take my boy over to Jims Archery shop near Port Ontario and get him set-up properly and have a kisser button added on.
  20. How did you guys fair in 2012? We hunt near Hamilton. The five of us did really well this year. I took a spike with my bow in November and filled my doe permit. I passed on a number of bucks because I filled my buck tag in the northern tier. How do you feel about 7M going to an AR zone?
  21. Funny.... when the government buys up ammo they are accused by gun owners of hoarding. However if gun owners buy up ammo they claim they are stock piling. It all the same, You are all hoarding. I stopped by Gander Mountain yesterday about 25 min. after they opened and they were out of .22 ammo. I was talking with clerk and he said its the same 20 or so guys who line up at the door before the store opens. He said, that these guys have bought thousands of rounds that they will never use in their lifetime.
  22. My backyard is about 22 acres and the deer use it as a walk through. They walk through at night on their way to grass fields to feed at night. After they feed all night they pass through on their way to their bedding areas. I try to plant something special that the deer will want to stop and nibble on as they make their way through. Usually a high quality clover or WI Winter Greens have worked well. They don't stop for long so I have to be on my toes when they arrive.
  23. The media is keeping fairly quiet about this one. Biden is probably hoping stealth mode may help his cause. Time again to start making phone calls! http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/biden-bloomberg-try-again-guns-6-months-newtown-183419637.html
