I was given this book as a gift but I already know how to process my own deer. Book is brand new and the dvd that comes with it has never been used. $10 you pick up or $10 plus shipping elsewhere.

Removing stank from rubber boots ?!
RangerClay replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Odor is created from bacteria and moisture feeds bacteria. Get yourself in a habit of putting your boots on a Peet boot dryer everytime you come in from the woods. It works for me. -
Already done! Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you! I figured as much but I wanted to check because adults without guns must have a stamp during the youth duck season.

I'm taking my kids duck hunting this weekend. My brother wants to tag along to film the hunt. Is he required to have a duck stamp?

Not getting Lyme disease.....priceless..

Help us to be part of that change.

After reading about what happened to Kip Campbell of Red Arrow TV I will definitely be wearing more Permethrin.

My school had one of those about 3-4 years ago.

For those who do put out piles of corn please pay heed!!!! The stuff they label "deer corn" is usually corn that is unfit to feed cattle. It can be unfit for many reasons. Be sure not to poison your herd.

It all starts tomorrow for us northern folk. Good luck to everyone and stay safe. Be sure to tell a loved one where you are hunting and buckle in once you get in the treestand. Who else besides me will be out tomorrow morning?

Not that I know of.

Check out the line of dots down the back of this mature doe. Must have some fallow deer in her blood in her blood line.
-
Yes they do make them. Just google, Spitfire Crossbow Broadheads. They cost more for what is probably the same thing.

I've shot Spitfires for 4 years this fall. If you buy the regular archery heads and not the Xbow heads put a rubber band for braces on it for back-up. Works great, it's what I did my first year.

Get yourself an arrow puller.

I have had great luck with Black Eagle Executioners (BEE's). Been shooting them out of my Sniper for 3 years this fall. I use 100gr. NAP Spitfires and Lumenok nocks. It's a deadly set-up, I've killed 2 bucks and two does in the last two years.

I got the email this week. Family Fishing Days, on Thursday, August 23 and Sunday, August 26, presented in cooperation with the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Admission to the New York State Fair is free for anyone presenting a valid New York State hunting or fishing license at the gate.

Craziest thing you've ever found in the woods
RangerClay replied to StevieSacs's topic in General Hunting
I once found a balloon addressed from a group in Canada. Attached was a pic of Jesus rear ending another Jesus with words "Jesus F'n Christ". It went back to camp and was fed to the wood stove. I once walked up to a white chicken in the middle of the woods. I said to it, "Enjoy your last day on earth" and walked on. One day while bow hunting I saw some movement and got ready. A few minutes later a goat walked by. Not exactly sure where he came from. Many years ago in the middle of early morning gunfire of the opening day of southern tier gun season I had a jogger come running by. I told him to leave and he did. -
I found that NAP Spitfires are the best for me. I've shot 4 deer since buying my crossbow and I have never had one fail. I tried Grim Reapers once on a follow up shot and it never opened. I gave them away.

Nice. You should come up to Watertown, that number would be 3900 easily.

Looking for tack shops with cowboy hats
RangerClay replied to RangerClay's topic in General Chit Chat
Great hijack guys. But lets get back to the topic at hand. Tack shops. Is there any in central NY? -
I have chosen a few of these. Use your sacrifice to make the world a better place.

I do cowboy action shooting and my boy needs a new cowboy hat. I don't want to order on-line because I've tried that before at it never fits right. Aside from Tractor Supply and Mitchels in Auburn, do you know of a tack shop or western store that has a good supply of cowboy hats? I'm willing to travel but not a crazy distance. The area I'm shopping in is within an hour of Syracuse, Rome area or northern NY.

I got lost once. Didn't panic and used my head. I was it took me a while but I found my way out.
