  1. Live of 31 on the lake in Sullivan work over by stota, was it an off colored hen pheasant
  2. Rob lots of ducks in the area your lease is and sometimes i see a rooster pheasant or two that come over from N.Main where they are released....dont hunt that area but drive over that way all the time
  3. The one year I had nice bucks on camera during summer they all moved off when they got hard horn, the other years i only had small bucks but around the end of october I start getting regular pics of some nicer bucks and they seem to stay around
  4. great job your stories are the best keep up good work
  5. WNY the one thing I found the first browse pressure they hit the smaller plants leaving the bigger ones for late, so some times it helps having smaller size plant
  6. sitting it out im off work but im in no hurry several bucks on cam but nothing i want to shoot right off , can hunt most of november i am looking forward to opner of turkey lots of nice toms on camera
  7. put a small cage up that will tell you for sure if they are getting hit
  8. my clover gets hit year round well until it dies in winter, grains normally get hit from the time they sprout until die off radishes late sounds like the deer may on another food source.... acorns crop fields etc...
  9. so basically any info he gets from people on the site wont be used so why bother............
  10. i will wait to temps come down, to shoot a doe dont want to have to rush around and butcher the same day, any 2 1/2 yr old buck gets shot
  11. so the B&B is over my knees now im guessing 24in with some good turnips and radish growing, the other stuff is still behind the biologic and WI has most plants between 8 in and foot
  12. hunter 007 if u never looked around last time why ask again, do some leg work
  13. all depends what your looking for u can head up north and go to areas and not see another hunter and have a shot at the big boy then again you can hunt all week and never see a deer, or theres areas down south where doe permits are given away by the handful and you have a good chance at getting shots but there will be other hunters and very few big boys, or bucks at all after opener

    Raccoon

Well I havent trapped in years but to get one that would get you 20 bucks is like 1 in 500. 30 yrs ago the avg was around 20 and i think the best i got was close to 45 or 50 bucks and even a small coon would get you 15 bucks
  15. anywhere from a 6.5 to 5.6 and the WI and Bio where planted in 6.5 and the B.B. was in 6.4 and 5.6.... Other then the the 5.6plot the other plots where all basically the same make up according to soil tests
  16. cant re-call what it was other then bio-logic and it was a brassica mix a buddy of mine bought it, moog yup big n beasty is they way to go been good every year i planted it dont know why i try other stuff
  17. Well plots so far so good Big n Beasty Frigid forage did the best its over 15 in high planted august 6th, WI winter greens planted same time is about 8in high and is holding its one but is slower growing, The bio-logic brassica mix is not doing well planted same date as others and is maybe 4in high, Buck forage oats planted on September 6 is doing great and deer are hitting it good also have winter rye mixed in. Wi Chickory and clover planted in the spring is also doing very well... Not sure whats up with the Bio logic same method and nothing diffrent done to it.
  18. camo is over rated i think once the weather gets cold i wear my old green wool pants... and normally my green carhart or wool coat , dont move and hunt the wind
  19. ferns are a pain what i have done is hit them with a heavy mix of gly and turn the field when everything is dead ferns will start popping up again and repeat the gly that seems to get them
  20. ive also used a light mix of gly like 2 to 3 oz a gallon and it burns the clover a little but if you do it when there is not a drought the clover bounces back
  21. well i work a 12 hr schedule so even without a day taken it works out i have off half the month, but with that said with my vac. i only have to work 6 days as of now in november and hope to knock it down to 4
