Ain't it just sooo relaxing...

I'm definitely not going to comment on your wood like the jerk did, but that's some nice wood!!!! Umm- I mean fire...

She might be kicking herself in the butt now, but she'll remember this day forever. Nothing like the feeling of a shot of pure adrenaline to frig things up. She might not realize it now, but that feeling is addicting. Just figuring out how to work though it takes time. Hang in there kiddo. You can do it.

I haven't, but over on bbq-brethern.com, there's a cult like following for UDS folks. Lots of info on building and running them.

3 for 3. What a awesome morning. Can't imagine how frustrating it must be when others ( won't call them hunters) do that kind of thing.

Congrats Addison. Way to go. Your smile is almost as big as the fan. Gavin, keep at young man.

Update. MIL is doing much better. She is off the respirator. She's on a strong blood thinner to attempt slowly dissolving the blood clots. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Lawdwaz, I was typing this response when you posted..

I've got no youth to mentor this season. Good luck to the youngsters and their mentor's. And a huge thanks to the mentors for your time, and sharing your knowledge and hunting areas with the kids. Looking forward to the pics.

I believe the RIR gene is dominant. They will be redish and have light brown eggs. But seeing there 17 weeks old, it will only be 3 to 5 weeks before they start paying rent, we'll find out then.

Just spent the day helping build a coop and run for my nephew like the one I built for myself, just bigger. He's picking up ten 17 week old pullets on Monday. $6.00 each. There a cross between RIR rooster and white leghorns.

Will you adopt me? Please!!!

I see 9 pellets in the bone. If you're happy with that, stick to under 40, and smile as wide as you can when you post the photo.

Yep. NY youth weekend coming up. No youth for me this year. Getting up anyway and going out to get a fix on the limb those long beards are wrapping there feet around. I'll set up accordingly.

I'm this day and age, I can see a FB post making some thinking this was a way to lure a youth into something evil. Not saying that was your intentions, but look at it from someone who doesn't know you. However, anyone willing to accompany you into the turkey woods would be a lucky individual. I've reached out to everyone I know. Some have very experienced family that are taking them out. Some don't want anyone involved. They think the memory will by tainted if others are involved in the first harvest. They want the memory to be them and their kid. Kinda like their kids first fish. Some first time turkey hunter will have to do. @Liquidoxix. I managed to call one of those up, lol Only hope I can show him enough to want to keep at it. Bonus would be to get him on a gobbler.

I get it. Good for you to be able to do that. I'm too nervous to. I know they will instinctively go back to the coop, but what if one or two decide the maple tree is more appealing? Guess I'm more comfortable with them being cooped up, but I know they would love to be free. One good thing about this thread is I'm figuring out ways to expand my run to make the ladies happy.

I so want to take a youth out this yr. Just can't call one in. Lol

Looks like the first is right on. Second looks like it's hitting low, but not as dense.

Ok. Wife had ventilator on the brain because that's what she's heard on the news for the past few weeks. Good news is she on a respiratory, not ventilator. Is stable and good stats.
-
And there the catch 22. Yours free range. They have to love it. Mine are in the run at all times. It's the give and take of chickenearing. Is that even a word???? Lol... Good luck on the goose eggs. Had some goose eggs several years ago. Not to hatch, to fry. They were good.
-
So sorry to hear that. Give your wife a hug from wife and I.
-
Damm it... Had to stop surgery. On ventilator now.
-
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Greatly appreciated. Gram is in surgery now. Wife is calling hospital every 1/2 hr.
-
U win. You live near a nuclear dump site? The second looks like it tried to shed the antler, new pedicle starting, but thinking it grew into the snout.

Hummm. I'm going to look into that. Love the 4 wheeled wheel barrow. Just don't stop on a slop and turn your back, lol
