  1. Just picked up a 21 lb 7 bone from ShopRite for $4.79 lb. Going on the smoker for a New year's eve party.

    Age this doe?

Either way she won't get any older..
  3. My CP Xbow is rated for 425. Ya I realize it's not going to achieve those numbers. But it did abide by the 17" TTP(tip to tip) rule. At 40 yrds, I can't follow the arrow to the target it's that fast, even with lighted nocks.
  4. We're the same. When I was in my 20's, I'd disagree with you. But now quality beef is preferred. I see myself in my grand nephew's/niece. They can consume a entire deer in a month. It's what I did back in the day. But as I've gotten older, I realize I like other meats as much if not better than venison. A slow smoked beef brisket/beef ribs, is on the top of my list as far as flavor. Venision backstrap is my second.
  5. Who here do you think is reliant on those scoundrels for protein? This thread had nothing to do with one being able to provide food for the family through hunting, fishing or foraging. Just a hunk of meat I took a picture of that was a tad expensive.
  6. I really hope you mean rub them down...
  7. Ok then. I guess I'll never taste waygu beef. Lol.
  8. Crazy marbling. You would almost think it would taste too fatty. What's something like that cost per lb?
  9. This is still available. 5 min from me. Did someone of the landscaping on the property 10 years ago. Ok. That link didn't work.. couldn't figure out how to get the link.. so a screen shot will have to do.
  10. Look at that marbling. Absolutely beautiful.
  11. Yes, he basically signed up for this season when he picked up his beef last yr. He usually has 3 butchered every yr. Staggers them a couple months apart. If I remember correctly, the shop he uses isn't taking any new clients at this time. Repeat customers only.
  12. Same here. Good friend of mine raises beef. I usually buy it off of him, except for whole brisket. I usually cook 8-10 a yr and he can't supply that many of them.
  13. Very true, but I've had many of the select cuts of prime rib and never had a tuff one. However the flavor of the prime is much better.
  14. ShopRite has them for $4.99# this Friday and Saturday with the coupon.
  15. If someone here really wants to get a Xmas gift, I'll take this, lol.
  16. Someone piss in your cornflakes this morning. It's a hunting forum. Don't like the post, don't read em.
  17. Bod Seger's version of the little drummer boy is my favorite. I like most of the traditional Xmas songs.
  18. Sounds like that guy hates NY. As do I. 3.5 yrs and wife and I are outta this shit hole. As far as hunting goes, I disagree with him about NY being the worst. As mentioned, lots of states charge for archery season. And highest annual snow fall? Maybe in the lake effect region. Definitely not in my area.
  19. We got lucky. Never lost power. Hopefully those that are still without power will have it restored soon.
  20. No he didn't. Shot was high. Blood had to fill the cavity before leaving a decent blood trail. That looks more like cartilage from the shoulder than fat.
  21. Shit just hit the fan here in the eastern part of the state. My weather station had a gust of 45mph. Raining hard and I'm thinking the house is going to become a kite.
  22. I hate them because a clean barrel vs a fouled in my experience has the POI 8" off. The 3rd shot could hit the deer next to the one I'm shooting at. Easy to load a 2nd or 3rd shot, but no consistency at all.
  23. Looking forward to seeing some picks of them on stand. Hopefully, we'll see a successful pic.
  24. I'm so sorry to hear this. Sorry for your loss.
