  1. Every competitor had to get piss tested the morning of the competition. No enhancement.
  2. She's into weight lifting. Dead lift, squat, and press. It was her first competition was in Utica. She dead lifted 457.6lbs. not sure what the old record was for her weight class.
  3. CNN canned the other Cuomo POS. Merry Christmas guys. Did you hear him say " I never pulled the trigger" ya, ok....
  4. Way to stick it out grampy. Solid late season buck. Congrats.
  5. I agree 100% . But this thread has gone to far. You deleted several chuckles , mine included before I knew it was forbidden. So I'm not sure why " Today's chuckle thread" is open when we can't post a chuckle? What if a new bee posts something, she/he might just go to the last page and post a chuckle. Granted, it's a unlikely event, lol...

    Intro

Welcome and thank you for your service. What area do you live in and hunt?
  7. Absolutely I had paperwork showing I ordered a 3500. Yes, if a new order, they would credited for those options. But some sources said the options would be installed to be activated at a later date, but that wasn't something the manufacturer was going to guarantee. Truck I ordered was $52,800(3500). The Truck I got with every option was $51,200.
  8. Well, the week before turkey day my dealer called and said my 2500 Silverado has been produced,( ordered on May 18th) but on chip hold.. WAIT... 2500?? I ordered a 3500. Dealer told me the GM changed my order to a 2500. Bull crap. I called GM, and they confirmed that the dealer typed in 2500. So my options were to except the 2500 or reorder the 3500 wich might take another 6 months and some of the options I ordered are not being offered do to chip shortage. Heated seats, steering wheel, at some camera options have been deleted on new orders. I told the dealer I'll gladly order a 3500 if they put in writing they will honor my trade in value regardless of what miles I rack up. They declined. So I decided to take the 2500 as long as the front axle ratings were within specs for the plow I was swapping over from the 2019 f350 POS. I confirmed the Chevy 2500 had the 5600lb front axle rating, and my plow wouldn't void my new truck warranty. Truck came in the 24th. Picked it up that day. Got lots of snow the day after, so no pics yet. So far I like the truck. I rarely tow or exceed the payload capacity of a 2500, but for a few bucks more, I prefer a 3500. Won't post pics of a new truck that's covered in snow, and now that it's warm, full of mud from all the dirt roads I run.
  9. Brings back memories of dad and I shooting trap when I was 12 or so.
  10. We do a few during ML. Always a good time. Couple yrs we killed more coyotes then deer during drives.
  11. It's possible. Remember it's just the first deer of the year in the shop. All other are properly cooled before processing. But I still prefer back straps over the inners.
  12. So why would you keep this thread open, but close the new one and give those a vacation? Baiting is illegal in NY.
  13. I prefer back straps far better than the inners.
  14. We have a tradition. First deer of the yr in our butcher shop( private shop), the inners get pulled, rinsed off. There often warm when pulled, so they get cooled in ice water. There then fired with butter and enjoyed by whoever is there. I can safely say, there's no reason that I can figure out why some are tender and some not. We've had yearlings that were tough as hell and old hag does that were tender as butter. Same with bucks. Most deer died within seconds. With 12+ guys bringing their deer to the shop for the past 25+ yrs, that's a lot of deer.
  15. Why keep this thread open then? Trying to bait someone into posting? Remove it or at least lock it up.
  16. Tried for a birthday buck today. Came close. Seen a 4pt bedded down in a field I could sneak around for a shot. Only needed a couple more steps, and a second doe I didn't see, seen me. Only thing close enough to shoot were these two skippers.
  17. Thanks everyone. Greatly appreciated...
  18. Lol, I've been called worse. I imagine some factors come into play. How fast did the deer die? If dead in a couple hrs, and it sits until the next morning, will make a difference compared to one that's alive several hrs and laid dead for only a couple hrs.
  19. Only giving you my experience with gut shot deer, and how I handle the recovery.
  20. I think someone on here got burned by someone selling something in a similar way. If you can go see it, great. Shipping only, nope.
  21. To me " child" is a youth hunter that has to have a mentor.
  22. I shot a doe yrs ago that was gut shot. 25° overnight. Found her the next morning. Cleaned and washed her out really good. Every time I cooked a piece of her, I'd get a slight hint of gut smell. Couldn't really taste it, but she went to dog food. It's the reason I will never let a gut shot sit overnight. I'll go back in at midnight.
