  1. I really hope it works out. I would like to see that adventure. Always like watching different styles of hunting.
  2. Yep. Apparently mother nature thought nyseg needed more money this year from me.
  3. I have this issue every now and again on my phone. All I do to get it to work is edit the photo rotate it or just shrink it down. For whatever reason after that I can post.
  4. Prayers sent hope she comes home soon.
  5. So my FIL gave me a boat and it came with a mercury outboard motor. The problen is at my lake(large pond) I can only use electric motors. So my FIL gave me permission to sell the motor so I can get a good trolling motor. I don't know anything about boats or motors. All I know is its older, always garage kept, and is not seized up. Any idea about what the price could be to sell it? Second picture is the boat it was on.
  6. All done for the day. Had a great morning. Had birds gobbling at about 530 and stopped a little after 6. About 630 I started making a move to another spot where I heard them gobbling opening morning. While I was moving a bird sounded off. So I got to the spot quick. At about 7 I let hit the box a couple times and had a second bird behind me sound off once. So I kept my attention that way and saw a flock of about 5 walk the far ridge away from me. So I let out some yelps and ended up having a bird behind me respond by yelping. About 8 I looked up and had 4 Jake's sneak into about 25 yards so I pulled up and shot at the biggest bird and all I could see through my scope was a sapling I didn't notice about 10 yards in front of me tip over and off the ran. I'll be back in that same spot next weekend.
  7. Getting ready to head out. I'll be heading back to the spot I was at opening morning hearing all those birds. Then if nothing by 930 going to hit up another piece.
  8. Ended the day on an intense note. Ended up at a different piece and came across some hens with no boy friends. So we got back to the truck at 1145ish. It's a dead end road so we are just driving back get just about to the end and had one about blow our ear drums out gobbling next to the road. So I throw the truck in park grabbed my gear and jumped into the woods. This is 11:51 I remember because I told my brother we have 9mins. He hits his call and the turkey blows up while sitting next to the truck. Pops on top of the ridge 50yrds away then drops back down the way he came. So I snuck up to him as my brother called. Birds going nuts the whole time next thing I heard was a tap on my truck and my brother saying time was up. So I snuck back to the truck with the bird gobbling within 50yrds.
  9. Slow start to the morning. We walked to top of the mountain and didn't hear anything. So we drop down over the edge and walked around to the other side into a gully. We were just sitting there thenow boom 2 let out at 700 still sound like in the trees. So we set up and 2 birds turned out to be at least 3-4 going nuts. Then we had one gobble way out past them and that was it never made another peep. Good to hear some though. Back in for food then going to another piece. Congrats to those that tagged one.
  10. No wind and rain here this morning hoping to at least get ears on one gobbling. Jake or tom is getting its head shot at. Good luck this morning.
  11. My old faithful New England 20 gauge with the youth stock. Shooting 3" winchester long beard xr. She kicks like a damn mule but she shoots good.
  12. Brother just called. He's able to go in the morning with me. So we are going to try to knock a couple down. Daughter will be back out Saturday and sunday.
  13. I just saw this for my area also. Should be cleared up by 5am in my area. Sitting a ridge top between 4 fields. Drops off to gullies on each side.
  14. I'm going out Friday regardless of weather. Looking at the forecast though the rain should be done by 530am. I have a place picked out just hope to be the first person there.
  15. That's a good idea. Might be able to even counter sink one side and get a flat allen head screw so it sits flush and use a lock nut on the opposite side. Either way it would be hard seeing someone going to get the tools to take it apart regardless.
  16. I'm not to worried about them being found. Alot of the sections I hunt don't get much pressure. We may take just the bottom section on 1 or 2 setups. But I've had 1 stand in 18 yrs stolen and that was because I was dumb and left it in the wide open(cameras are a different story) However saying that I don't leave stands up usually during gun season. There's just not alot of bow pressure on Stateland around me. But 2 of them will be about a mile in. And if someone wants to go back to their car and grab bolt cutters then walk back and get them. They can have the damn things. Serious question can you put screw in steps in Stateland trees? I was always told it wasn't allowed.
  17. I know it's a ways out until deer season but me and my brother scored 4 hangons with 4 sets of climbing sticks for 170. Finally have enough I can put them on a couple pieces of stateland. We will be painting the sticks camo to hide them better. I know where 2 are going already and if they find them they have to be looking. Also will be replacing ratchet straps and buying locks. Stands are a little older so 3 have chains instead of straps. So my plan is to paint some locks and lock the stands up in the tree. Can't wait to scout now to place the other ones.
  18. Well no luck. Got a message Enigma that he spotted a bird so we moved on it but it was already gone by the time we got there. I want to say a big thanks to Shawn he was so helpful this weekend. He taught my daughter and me alot. He spoke to her so she new every step of the process. That means alot, most people would talk to the adult over the child and he made sure he talked to her and that she was aware of every step. Even though we didn't take a bird it was still a very successful weekend. Made a new friend, got to hunt with my daughter, had some laughs, heard some birds.
  19. 3 gobbles again at first light now it's quite. Still a nice day to be out.
  20. Sitting in the blind. Hopefully the birds come in front of us today instead of walking behind. Good luck today.
  21. Slow since 8:30 -9. Had one fired up and he quit I think he had hens. My hunting buddy hasn't lossed much sleep. Lol
  22. We are hearing a bunch. Good morning so far.
