30 yards with the blackhornets. Shot at 20 but this was my first at 30. Put 4 in the center of the dot on the next couple shots. I shot every broadhead. they are all flying great and will only come off those arrows to resharpen then back on that exact arrow. Also put a muzzy on one since I only have 3 Magnus and that hit perfect. I have a lot of confidence going into this year.

Hopefully getting out first thing in the morning for tree rats before we go set 2 more stands -
Me and the daughter both got our tags today. We both drew 7m and no 7p again this year. Is it me or is that a crap load of paper with the licence this year. All my daughter got was regular and does and it's a mile long.

Victory vforce 29inch, 22grain stock insert with 30 grain black eagle screw in weight running Magnus black hornets. Total arrow 434grains shot it through a chrono read 263.

Tomorrow is the start of hanging stands. I have 4 to put up and 3 more on Sunday. Just got my harness in the mail so all good to go. My brother is meeting me here at 7am so we can head out. Hopefully I remember to take pictures while I'm out tomorrow.

White oaks are dropping here in my area. Along with apples hoping they don't all drop yet.

Anyone use the jet sled?
Swamp_bucks replied to cdbing's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I know a couple people that use them and they all love them. I don't know how it would be loading a vehicle with it they just toss the deer in the truck. They only use it to drag the deer out. -
Welcome. I don't know about that part of the state but there is thousands of acres of stateland to explore. Good luck this year.

It's here. Its officially the start of our 2020 hunting season. Good luck to everyone this year.

I don't know anything about that biotech model but I know a lot of people who shoot diamond. I was told that's bowtechs off brand. Those people love the diamond so my guess the same would be for the bow tech.

Glad your ok that could of been alot worse. This reminds me i need to order my new harness. What's the rule when after a fall for saftey harness? Should you fully replace it? I think I would.

That sucks hope all works out and you get the place you really want. I will say my neck of the woods doesn't get hit hard opening day of gun. Only 5 of us on 700 acres last year only trucks came from my group of guys. That's 3 years in a row now.

Last scouting trip for the year. Went into a place we call the hole it's a 65acre chunk of stateland off the main piece. It's very hard to hunt because of where they bed and how the wind swirls. 3 ridges dump into a crick bottom that has 4 streams meet. In the center of it is an old orchard. There's only 2 ways to get into it. I went in to check on the apple trees and oaks. Oaks are loaded and only s few trees have crap apple's on them. I did jump a fawn and doe about 200yards from the truck. Also found to skeletons both looked like last year fawns to big for this year. Trail camera is up on a beaten down trail. Hoping I can figure out a way in without spooking everything off the piece.

That's what I do with my single pin. Top of pin is 0-10,whole pin out to 30. Bottom of the pin to 35 and that my max range. Still dialing it in for the new bow. Most likely even shooting 35 they will drop a little bit so I can just aim like I normally do at 30 and they'll drop into it.

Deer leave a lot of sign in hunting season so it can be easy to tell where they are traveling. If you screw up just learn from it and keep pushing forward. You'll be safe on public land yes accidents happen but it seems like most accidental shootings are with people from the same hunting party.

I predict that the debate between mechanical vs fixed will never end even though it doesn't matter but to the person using it. It's the old chevy vs ford debate. My actual prediction for deer season is someone in the western part of the state will kill a monster. I will probably see a nice one but will only end up with a doe. I always have a rough year after having a good one.

Forgot to post picture from last night. This is my group at 30. My 40yard group is getting better just not great. The good thing is 30 is my max hunting distance so as long as I can keep shooting well I'll be all good to go come 10/1.
-
Also wanted to add I did use a range finder to verify my guess on yardage and I didn't put my score in.
-
Shot really well. Ended up with a 289. 1 miss and 4 5s. We had to ask someone to make sure we were scoring right. I was just happy I didn't lose any arrows and 10 ringed the 54 yard elk.

Possibly. I have a wedding in September to attend just not sure of the date or if it will be rescheduled.
-
Yes I think it is the weekend of the September 13th don't quote me on it though. But we are hoping to shoot that day also
-
Anyone going tomorrow? There's 4 of us going around 9-10. Going to get breakfast first then shoot. I talked to Jason i believe thats his name yesterday who runs it they are having a drawing for an elite kure, hoyt or a crossbow. I think he said tickets are 20 each. This will be my first actual 3d shoot so I'm excited about trying something new.

I'm in for team 3.

I like my military mickey mouse boots. Sat all day opening day last year in that bitter cold. No issues Sat from 530am until 400 when I shot my buck. There ugly weigh a ton but are really warm and dry.
