Dont have a peep sight i have a hard time looking through them with my glasses. My guess is shoulder being sore but wouldnt be suprised if im not shooting correctly out of a stand because of not bending correctly. Ive always had a hard time shooting out of them. Thats why i hung a stand this year to shoot from since i finally have the space to at my new house. And to get more hunting style shots in. If shoulder ls not sore tonight ill shoot again and see.

No i think it was because of my shoulder being sore. I tend to drop left arm when my shoulders sore. Thats why i want to shoot a little more to make sure it wasnt that. If it continues ill need to look into it more.

Shoulder was a little sore today but got some shots in. Did shoot out of the tree stand and shooting about 3-4 inches lower than on level ground. If it continues ill have to make some adjustments. All pictures are from when i was on the ground. Did get interupted by my little hunting buddy wanting to pet the turkey.

Ill get tags in a couple of weeks. But i cant wait to get out there. Didnt get anything last year so i have no deer meat left. Usually the year after not getting one(only happened 3 or 4 times in 16yrs of hunting) i take a couple hoping that happends again.

All the blinds are mainly blowdowns or inside a cluster of saplings with camo burlap or sticks for the sides for cover.

I might be able to depending on date.

I like to be done by september 1st with stands so they are used to them. As for being out after september 1st doesnt make much of a difference on my lease. Its an active hobby farm so they are always in the woods anyways. Not trying to hyjack thread just a quick question. My only thing this year is the neighbors running those blue sap lines so they are in place all year. Neighboring properties have it as well. Think it will change their pattern?

I like these but 2 of the blinds are in blow downs so theres not much to place seat on. Ide like to get one i can takr from blind to blind.
-
I saw one of these online. I was considering it. Just dont think it would be easy to take in and out or from blind to blind.

Hoping to shoot tomorrow. Did adjust my range and put a hang on up 6ft just for a little practice shooting elevated. Pigs 10,turkey 20,deer 30. Going to move bag out to 40. And probably pig out to 25.

That sucks but you still have 2 options start knocking on doors or look for some stateland. If you havent asked strangers for hunting permission before its not to hard just expect most to say no. Be respectful and offer to do some hard labor(fix fence, hang posted signs, clean gutters, ext.) Some may even tell you exactly where to sit. Good luck

Im looking for a decent hunting chair with adjustable legs to get leveled out on uneven ground and portable. Realized while setting up blinds this weekend neither spot is flat. So my normal bucket or lawn chairs wont work to well. Trying to keep it under $60 if possible. Found a bunch online just want to see what some of you have used or currently using.

7m just south of hamilton. I tend to always get a doe tag or 2 for there. Most of my other hunting is done in stateland in 7p.

Me and my brother took a trip up to the hunting property in madison county to see what we wanted to change stands wise. Ended up putting in 2 ground blinds so we can take up the kids, moved a ladder stand. Still have to go back and replace the ladder stand we moved with a double ladder and possibly adding another single ladder or a hangon in a pasture they keep sneaking through. Lease owners did say they have seen 2 different piebalds in the last week. So im hoping to see one this year. First year in 3 years me and my brother are hunting together and actually getting along. But it will probably be my last in the woods with my dad. His dementia is getting bad quickly and dont think he has much time left to enjoy hunting. So we are trying to get him one last deer.

Advice for a new archery program
Swamp_bucks replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in Greater Rochester Southern Tier QDMA
My local gun club does the s3da. My daughter shot for it for 1 year. Its great because any type of bow can be used and any kid from any district can usually take part. Theres another program i cant remember thats all recurve through the schools. But i talked to the instructors when she shot and the reason for starting the S3DA over the other was because most schools wont allow other students to shoot at their school(insurance issues) thats if you can get a school to start a program like that. But you can have the S3DA at any gun club. Age goes up to senior in high school with chance at alot of scholorships kids have to keep grades up. Good luck and hope you find something. If you need any help contacting someone for it let me know and i can get the head instructors info monday when i go to work monday. -
Love those wide rack bucks. Always amazes me how they can be that wide and still get through some of the crap they go through at full speed.

Thank you for the info.

late inning corn
Swamp_bucks replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I would say yes. Its amazing the types of corn out there and how quick they can grow. Should be all good for another good year. -
I know a couple guys that go down who hunt with friends that live there and said deer are everywhere they usually bring home a nice 8 or 10 every year. I think they hunt private though. Good luck if you end up going.

I saw 7p went up i think i have a preference point for it. Ig my daughter decides to go probably all my doe tags will go to her. She wont turn 14 until after october 1st so she cant try for them. Or does that not matter for the youth hunters?
-
If you find a local person they usually come and take them no charge. Theres someone in my area who has a huge buisness usually call and they come and get them but its been 10yrs since i had to they might not now. Dont no where your out of but Kutics Honey Farm in oxford might take care of it for you.

4 years ago november 1st i believe. Had perfect wind at my lease snuck into my favorite stand without bumping anything. I could hear deer walking the ridge above me. Just as it started getting light i could hear a deer pawing for what i thought was acorns. It turned out to be a massive perfect 10 biggest deer i ever saw while hunting and he was working a scrape. I can still see the siloutte of his horns in the sun as he used the licking branch. Watched him for 20 mins working 4 scrapes before he started my way. He came straight down the hill at me to within 15 yards. All he had to do was continue another 5 yards for a broaside shot at 10yrds or take the trail to the right and have a 15 yrd shot. But he did what big bucks do and walked back the way he came. I had one shot window at 20yards but he was quatering to much and didnt feel comfortable. Never saw him again but did see 4 other bucks that morning.
