  1. I am all for counties being able to opt out of legislation. Esp in NY. Wish we could do more of it so that the stupid laws being passed downstate dont have to be followed upstate. That being said there is no reason for one county to opt out of it . Are the 12_13 year olds in that county less capable than the rest of the state? I could see a legitimate possible reason in maybe some of the Adirondack counties IF they thought it would impede snowmobiling as that is big up there. But Erie co....... Doesn't make much sense.
  2. Maybe lay down a scrape and see if it gets some use. If it gets used, i like a dripper cause i can leave it and not bother the spot. i put them in areas i know have in the past gotten lots of scrape activity. dripper in this tree
  3. I like to use a dripper if its a spot that i dont have to walk thru to get to the stand or if its a regular known scrape. Then it keeps my scent out of there. But if i am walking by it already i will freshen one up when i am there.
  4. 2018 had a tough bow season. Moved a stand and killed three deer out of it including my best ever. and that blurry deer ...... looks like a monster!!
  5. You guys out are food plots for skeeters! Good luck, hope someone downs one.
  6. 70s next 7 days here. Almost 80s. And still above average for 14+. Usual first frost for Syracuse is about Oct 17th. Overnight forecasted low temps are almost the normal high temps. https://www.localsyr.com/weather/milder-pattern-keeping-frost-threat-away-from-cny-for-awhile/
  7. when you come out to WNY i am betting there is a patdown from Sodfather to be sure you didnt bring any with you
  8. Corey did his first hunt yesterday. heres his texts..... 1-"First hunt of the year - in Roadkill" 6:46am 2- "getting the F%^#$ out of here, mosquitoes are insane bad" 7:23am
  9. That clean straight tree behind him looks like it needs a stand in it ASAP! nice buck
  10. Lol. I guess. I enjoy the setup and work almost as much as the hunting. Corey was using the cutter doing trails and he was saying he could do that all day. Trying to make our spot a little better. We can't do a lot there but we can play in the existing trails some.
  11. That's what I read too. And was thinking it would work fine where I am at as there are no rocks at all and tons of top soil. If you get it would love to hear how it works.
  12. Won a Amazon gift card at work and put it to good use.
  13. i was going to buy the same thing - saw a used one for $900. Hoping the guy still has it in the spring. But decided to buy a brush hog and didnt want to spend the $ for both right now. I will be following this too.....

  16. whatever weapon is legal. I like the bow season the best but for numerous reasons other than the implement. But if choosing one I like the muzzleloader. Just not a big fan of the late cold season in southern.
  17. Nice take! Hoping to get out for one more walleye day this year myself
  18. i have a wedding to go to on Sunday too. Since its not gonna be good hunting weather i guess i will get them something now.
  19. make me proud Red!!! No pressure.... lol Seriously good luck. show us how its done!
  20. glad i didnt take any early time off. I took the opener and have the 18th just cause i wanted a long weekend. Then on Oct 25th start a run of some vac time each week! that first cold shot ought to really get things moving. Plus it just doesnt feel the same sitting in the stand in a T shirt
