Yes I am quoting myself. I am hearing rumours around the waiting room at the academy that this streak has been extended...... -

I always get a couple of leftovers for 7F. Can't go wrong they are free. I have yet to need them other than my one for 7F and one for 6S but good to have in case

Venison burger and some sliced tomato with horseradish sauce. Burgers came out great from the doe!
-
you need to shoot one! Didnt you just say in the live thread you were eating Tuna casserole? You must need to refill that freezer! lol With all the deer you have over there one doe cert wont be missed.
-
After I shot the doe on sat morn . I got back in the stand and 7 more came thru and I was so close to sending another one. That way my meat was set for the year by 10/3 as I like to get two deer for the freezer every year. Then all the time left to look for a buck I like. And my buck standereds are usually 5 pt or better. At least that is what I try to do. I am certainly not in a great buck area, but try not to take a small one. I passed up 3 easy shots last season on smaller bucks. That being said doe taste good , tags do not. Looking to take another if I can .

Doe down 10/3. Fill the freezer. Would like one more before last week of Oct. Then perfect setup for holding out for a good buck. With last three weeks to try for a big one A doe in gun is not a layup for me and my spots. And never overlook the current opportunity to wait til later.

my buddy hit a tree last year and before this season the first thing he did was cut it down! It happens for sure. HArd to see those little saplings when staring down a deer thru the sights. -

I got excited this morn when a friend that let's me hunt at their place, sent me this pic but it was from old forge this weekend when they went for a ride. Railway in the background by train ride. She said lots of deer by the road up there, but this was a stud

meat eater show did a special too on breaking down a whole deer. I never minded doing the butcher part but i hate skinning them. its a pita. But if your not setup to do it and its season i would look for a processor too. I take mine to a processor sometimes when i just dont have time or ive already done a couple just cause its great to just drop it off and come back in few days and pick it all up. Plus there is a really good one at Marsh mill in bridgeport near me- they do a great job and for $100 sometimes its just worth it. Hope you find one but if you get a deer and have no choice this year - i guess its a good time to learn how. -
Wow stomper of a buck! Congrats to your brother in law and do you have any single sisters??

I buy a 3lb pack of bacon ends and pieces. Grind and mix those into 11-12 #s of ground venison. It's become the only way I make it now. Good stuff. I added in a dry onion soup mix and a few dashes of worchishire as well. Cooked a small burger to test it and it came out great. -

Deer is cut up and almost all put away. All the regular steaks, some stew meat, a small roast and put up 33 bacon burgers and have to freeze and package 12 pounds of apple breakfast sausage tomorrow. -

Lol. I've heard they are biting a bit now. Might start making some early morns before work and hunting when the wind is right. Hard to pass up when they really start the bite.
