  1. Friday dinner with GF - chicken parm cutlets and angel hair, a salad. And to top it off some great wine made by @Otto. Thanks much Tony! Antlered wine glasses for good luck tomorrow to boot.
  2. Guy that owns the land we lease just sent me this... Lol. He says they are wondering where you are ..... Go figure.
  3. Thats def a tough one and prob only one you can answer. I know that on Fridays i am sure to get all my mask mandatory stuff done cause i am NOT wearing one on the weekends. And if someone goes fishing with me they can if they like and i would never question it but i am not wearing one in the boat. That being said I think you should do what you feel comfortable with and woudlnt be afraid to ask those guys before you go. They are probably wondering the same thing.
  4. i have this same problem. I shoot right handed still and just close the left eye and its been fine, but if i could go back would prob try to shoot lefty. Esp if just starting out. years ago there were less options and i am pretty set in what i do to change it now after all these years. Id rather not loose the muscle memory, anchor points etc now but if just starting to shoot bow I would go lefty. Plus Lefties often have more bows left on the shelves on discount at the end of the year.....
  5. this x2 if you have the tank and it runs. Esp since your in WNY - would make a good troller/kicker motor or for a small boat.
  6. i will keep you posted. I have 6 bonus points saved up so maybe next year ....
  7. That is def a good push to get a compound! nice buck. You wont regret getting a bow, a whole month of hunting your missing out on.
  8. i am 10000000% looking forward to it. My buddy is gonna be in a stand that is showing the most action and i will be in 6S in the morn where i got the doe. I did tell him though i plan on hunting that spot in the afternoon so if he could not screw it up by killing a deer i would apprecaite it. He wont listen......lol
  9. lol, I wouldnt come to NYC for any reason whatsoever. Please dont take offense though. If i had a doe tag for Megan Fox and she was loose in central park, I still wouldnt go there. Been there twice and both times i wanted out in any direction til i hit cornfields or water and i could figure my way home from there. I would love to meet you guys, i just could do without meeting the other 7 million people.
  10. I had a guy that worked for me for quite a few years. He retired from his other job and was bored in 2 months. Lol Came to work for me part time and in 6 months wanted full time. For some working is what keeps them going to.
  11. Thanks. Yes def hard to find. I also have a good staff so that helps. A lot smaller than we used to be when I had 38 staff but have a good bunch.
  12. Hope that works out. More days at least doing the things you work to be able to. Even if you can get to do that it would sure be worth it. Glad to see you got out on that lake Lila trip. It's kinda funny , I have always been a machine at work. Something that needs to get done gets done. Ive had maxed out sick time for years, right now I have 7 weeks of vacation on the books. But I know I could walk away from it at this point and be happy about it. Hell even if I won the lotto I would still give 6 months notice cause where I work has been good to me. But I can honestly say I wouldn't miss working anymore. And not because I don't have a good job and would like something different, I find myself getting tired of being on a schedule that I just don't get to choose and would rather be on the lake or in the woods. And I think that feeling comes from my Dad passing one month before he was planning to retire to do all those things too. But of course I give my all and then some. Always have it's the only way I know. I have always been the guy that opens the place and closes it. And on call 24/7.
  13. I am a man of simple needs. I could actually prob do it for little less. Lol. 88k pays off every debt I have. The rest covers my bills, small home improvements, taxes, health insurance and boat gas til I'm 62 for SS and 60 for 401k and 65 for health ins. Then enough to supplement that to get by with SS. Goal is to have mortgage paid at 60 and retire then. Most def by 62. But now would be nice. Once I retire I would prob never go farther than the local Walmart for groceries, to the boat launch 4 minutes away and the hunting lease 6 minutes away. Legion for fish fry or the Brew Haus for a flight of beers all within 2 miles, a good Italian restaurant 300 yards away, post office 2 houses down the road, good mechanic 400 yards away and a state park to take walks with the dog is 1/2 mile with the best sunsets around. GF lives 15 minutes away but she always comes out here to visit. Hell if I get too old I can get my scooter to the canal/pier 400 yards away and still fish. Lol I'd be set! Yes I may have thought about it a bit.
  14. In the woods I am not afraid of yotes, bears, squatches or alien abduction but Ticks yes. Hate the damn things. I am also somewhat afraid of tripping over a skunk for obvious reasons.
  15. huuuhh how dare you!! You take that back!
  16. im just shy of that amount - damn it foiled again.
  17. osted October 3 Doe down to refill the freezer. Crazy morn in the woods, it felt like mid season. Got in the mosh pit stand in 6S before light. A little before 8 I hear walking here come two does walking right at me. I draw on the first and bigger one and she comes to my stand straight in at like 4 yards. I have to let down and turn as she goes by and no she is walking straight away . Finally she turns at 25 and I send it. Think it's a good hit as she takes off. Give it 15 minutes and get down. Find arrow and blood on it up 12" about 10 yards away. And a blood trail. Decide to get back in stand and give it a 1/2 hour. Just get sat back down and three more doe come in they get to within 38 . Thought about it but unless it's a layup better just worry out the one I got. They walk away then come trotting back looking over their shoulders. I get ready and I hear grunt grunt grunt phhhh. There is buck behind them somewhere. They keep looking back in the woods then come out in the field. I have a perfect 30 yard on a big doe but I hold off cause of the buck. Well he never came out. 10 minutes later 4 more different doe come thru and skirt me at 40 in the brush. Finally after they are gone for 15 minutes. I have to go look for my deer. Start following blood and can tell it's a definite lung hit cause it's spraying. After a few find her laying in the middle of the horse field about 120 away. Yes!!!! Hit her double lung and then hit outside shoulder. She had been laying there prob after 2 minutes. Decent sized doe and it didn't have any fawns so it is a freezer filler. Earliest I've even filled a tag. Great start to the season. And a great day in the woods. Thank you everyone for all the rooting for me! And pic of bloodying up the new truck! Lol.
  18. i need $388,000 to retire today. How do I make that day trading by the end of the week?
  19. The academy IT Dept needs to get on this asap! Can't just use the site without taptalk? I haven't tried it with taptalk cause it seems like a few have had problems.
