  1. pulled some cards yesterday and got some good photos of two bucks fighting. Was about 10 photos buts heres a few. And a couple of buck pics. The area where they were fighting is a licking branch that gets hammered every year and we have a stand 40 yards from it (closest tree) and these two fighting is about a 37 yard shot. Always get buck pics here and have shot one here. Hope to this season.
  2. Their stuff is excellent but i prefer to make my own just cause i like to. But have had the rueben and the maple blueberry thanks to TF and its excellent. And thanks to Lawdwaz - for an awesome fishing snack out on Keuka!
  3. That's a better sign. If blood like that continues you def got her. High hit might have taken a bit to drip down. Good luck let us know.
  4. I hit a buck high one time and no blood anywhere. Went back the next day and found a little blood 90 yards away in the woods. Spent 5 hours looking and found it in a crick wash. It might be a fatal shot but if no blood trail prob need to walk out and try in the morn. Sucks but prob the best idea. We have rain coming in here if you do too that complicates ot more. But look tomorrow up trails in the direction it went and grid search the area. And If no blood maybe you can get on it's footprint trail some to.
  5. Prob not a lung or heart hit then. Could be high or low and hit brisket. Doesn't mean deer isn't dead though. Did you think it was a pass thru or not?
  6. I always shower in scent free shampoo and use scent free deodorant in the morn. I don't shower for an afternoon hunt but I will put my clothes in the ozone bag and then hang them outside til I go.
  7. Mid hunt breakfast. Maple blueberry sausage, scrambled with bionic tater and egg topping, rye toast.
  8. Hunt #11. 10/18. 7F lease Scrapetree stand. Dark -10 Didn't see anything. Perfect wind but no players. Repaired the ground blind that blew over again with some better stakes and one for luck - used arrow I shot the doe with lol. Gonna cancel my mon and Tues off unless I down one Tonite then I could cut it up etc. But looks like a rainout and a waste of time off . Maybe take Thursday off. But next weekend looks big. Big drop in temps, closer to the rut and I also have a 4 day weekend. Have shot a few deer on the 25th. I call it my deer day. Last year had a huge 9 go by two of my stands on the 25th as well. This afternoon will prob sit there again , trim a couple branches, pull a couple cam cards.
  9. Your a damn meathook! Congrats that's awesome. Long night for you. If you had shot that buck too you'd prob make the forum HOF.
  10. Think I am going to send the company an email and see if they might send one. Otherwise I am going to have to take out the one I have to size it right.
  11. Hunt #10. 10/17 2:30-dark. 7F lease RSS stand. Not a good sit all around Tonite. Went in early with pole saw cause Corey said that stand needed some trimming. And boy did it. Got most of it done but a few things still need cutting but I raised enough of a racket. Got down twice more to make some cuts so it's huntable. Then notice my string stopper is loose (fixed it Tonite) , then 300 yards behind me on neighbor property is a field of beans and they start cutting it. Must be using some sort of vacuum system cause it is so loud. They stop about 5:30, then neighbor nearby takes two shots at like 6. Which always makes me think poacher as two shots right before dark generally isn't target practice. So got out of there and nothing seen. Just wasnt meant to be Tonite. Hunting other side of lease tomorrow as it's a east/south wind. Most pics we have is right from the corner of this trail. Should be a good spot for one of us this season.
  12. Thanks everyone that did the trick. Will get another set screw for it next week. Backed it out and it was already real loose adjusted and tighted down and good to go. And even avoided one of my top ten talents of being able to strip most anything with an allen wrench.
  13. Thanks guys. Not worried about it affecting my shot Tonite when I drop a buck but it def isn't right. Thanks for the help will do that Tonite and get online and see if I can order a replacement too
  14. Out in stand and realized my string stopper is off and pushed in about 2 inches. Gotta fix it Tonite. Looks like one of the inserts is missing that threads in there. How do I adjust this with an allen wrench? And should I put a real small screw in other one or just tighten the one?
  15. In between hunts breakfast. Eggs over hash browns and a dash of Frank's. Maple blueberry sausage.
  16. Hunt #9, 10/17. Dark -10:15. 6S mosh pit stand. Didn't see anything. But what a beautiful morn. They cut the corn across the road and am thinking they are pounding that field at night for an easy meal. My buddy Corey got busted by a buck on the lease this morn. Came behind him and winded him.
  17. Nice mount and good to see it is going to be on someone's wall so they can tell the story about it too
