nope, run a transp dept. I take zero time off all winter and have been here a while. Have like 700 available hours on the books and i use mine to fish/hunt. Have a buddy in corrections and they can switch time pretty much at will, its amazing. Good perk but also had to go thru a lot to get that and lets face it you work in a prison.

got a good buddy that is retired and sent me a message yesterday. " I have 3 boats and a canoe and i havent hit the water yet and dont know when i am getting out , cutting wood today".

My Dad was in the army at the end of WW2. He wasnt in during D Day but was for the dropping of the bomb on Japan. He said the whole armed forces were frozen at that moment. He was on a ship in the panama canal and they just stopped where they were. He then saw action in the pacific even though the war was "over" . People on the islands didnt know it. He said it was pretty terrible and cant imagine some of the things he told me they had to do. Cant imagine going to the other side of the world and fighting in bunkers etc. and to see the carnage they seen and come back and live a life after. Def the greatest generation that kept us free. If not for them we would not have an America to live in.

Not bad. Something different

Years from now it will all just be part of the story. Take your wife's hand, push through the tough times and enjoy the good ones. Congrats on the wedding.

Only if you don't like $! Lol. I don't get paid a lot but I do get a lot of time off! I make enough to feed myself and the dog and cover the boat payment. The important stuff.

Didn't remember to take pic of but 7 perch and one walleye today. Fishing was tough then got blown off the lake. Out with GF and Charlie. Went to lunch after in Sylvan beach for a clamwich for me and a portabella mushroom Swiss burger for her. Didn't kill the fish for sure but a good day off.

and everybody has the same question ....... where do you hook to them.... there is three spots you can hook to. I always say pick the middle one that way you have the best chance of picking the spot that is the least wrong. Told that to the guy at the bait store and he said yeah thats probably why everyone hooks them there. lol going out fishing in the morn and will try it again i am sure ....... damn stubborn

i feel vindicated here!!!!!! everyone tells me "they are biting sonars" "got em on sonars" maybe its all BS and its a cover lure for our secret weapon of the nightcrawler! Maybe we should start a support group.........Sadness with sonars.........first step is admitting its a problem. thanks guys now I dont feel so alone......

I pride myself on being a pretty decent fisherman and have mastered a few different types of lures and techniques and can usually adapt and find a way to catch em. No matter the water or the species. Not bragging but I've spent a lot of time on the water, far more than in the woods. But these damn things are my Kryptonite....... It's probably the #1 lure and technique on Oneida lake for walleye, and I will be damned if I can work this or get it right or have it be productive. It's a running joke with fishing buddy Corey. We both have some put them on and bitch about them the whole time. Lol. Well I just bought two more cause I'm stubborn!!! Stopped at the bait shop for some worm harnesses and of course get talking with the guys and first thing everyone is getting them on sonars. I see tons of guys out fishing with sonars etc..... Damn things! I'm gonna master these one day!

wowwow!!!!! that was some great timing on the photo!!! Ive caught some tigers but only one undersize real musky. I had one once take a rock bass in the st. lawrence like that as well. Very cool. not so cool for the poor guy that got bit. Its spawning season for them - i wonder if he stepped onto their spot.

Smallies have got to be in the shallows soon. It's always been memorial weekend you could just lite em up, but this year they still haven't bedded. After pike fishing checked out the shallows and fish weren't even bedding yet. Caught some small males along the way but usually can get on them in 15 minutes of fishing some regular spots. The year is so far behind to start but it has made for some good walleye fishing. Good luck! Jigging lakers sounds like a great time for sure . Hope they are hitting for you.

Trout? Perch? Whatever bites?

Venison burger

Where does model glue come from then? Lol
-
They must be last year's stock they have nice color. Either way good catch! And they will be delicious I am sure.
-
Nice browns. Those aren't stockies either. Use panther Martin's?

Limit of eyes and some perch. Got lost in the land of 14" walleyes for a while and had to keep letting them go.. lol. Must've caught 10 shorts. Caught 2 other keepers but not big enough to cull. 22' of water was the magic number. Not 21, not 23.... But it seemed as soon as I hit it in 3 different spots there were fish. Fishing buddy Corey wasn't feeling well so he didn't make it this morn.
