  1. Headed out. It's like hunting in Florida this morn. Good luck
  2. Looked like the moose last week. Def looking shaky and that's even with an ump with a big zone tonite. Gonna need that #1 offense tonite.
  3. Get rid of the bow and hunt with a kettle bell. It's high enough that you can just drop it on them and kill em.
  4. I have a buddy that drags snowmobiles and he got one. Had it a month and sold it cause he said he knew he would die on it. They are designed for acceleration and speed and that's exactly what they get used for.
  5. I would move into an RV . So then it's tarpon and mahi in Jan and Feb in Florida, texas in March for offshore rig fishing and pig hunting, April in Midwest for turkeys, May and June in NY for turkeys and walleyes and perch back home, July and August in Alaska for rainbows and grayling, sept in the Dakotas for pheasants and early mule deer, October and November back home for whitetails, Dec on a flyway in Louisiana for ducks...... ( And yes I know I could have made better picks for whitetails but want to come back to NY somewhere in there. Lol). But love the opportunities I have here in NY. I have some good hunting and fishing right here.
  6. This was a winner. Sitting outside on a beautiful night sipping these with the GF was all good. Didnt get up to go for turkeys but that's ok.
  7. Same here. Intents to get out . But I am up at 4 am every day for work. Needed to sleep a little. And a few cocktails with the GF last night sealed that. Good luck everyone. Ill be out tomorrow for sure
  8. Made garlic and parmesan deviled eggs and bacon and ranch tater salad for cookout tomorrow. A buddy that always has wild game from turtle to caribou. Unfortunately it's a bit of a sad one as it is kinda his going away BBQ. He isn't doing well, but it will def be a hoot there cause it needs to be. People are tenting it etc. Goes from 1pm til.......
  9. This looks like a contender for the GF s drink for this summer. She picks a new one every year. Tonites a try out. She loves the blood orange. So going with blood orange coke, a shot of capt and a shot of orange Curacao. Whats the worst that could happen. Don't know what to call it though.......
  10. there used to be place in Jefferson county called the Barneveld Hotel. NOt a pretty place but the most amazing food and my favorite was steak and trout. Came out with a monster steak and a filleted rainbow on it. It was absolutely three meals! nice catch and way to start the weekend!
  11. goin out in am to my best spot with my proven setup and have at it in the morn! got two more hunts in Sat and Sun morn. Where im going there are still empty shells laying there from past successes, hope to add one to it. Damn Turkeys are keeping me off the lake!
  12. Pedroia is probably smiling a little. Get that deadbeat out of town......lol. and make room for a true red sock! That was a terrible contract from the start. Almost as bad as Crawford.
  13. Dad done raised her good. Your gonna be a proud Dad either way but hope treebird is gonna pose for a pic with you two. Good luck. Plus maybe with all those gobblers over at the other spot she won't be able to get a good nap in. Lol. Best of luck. That's a great story to be proud of.
  14. shot one with a bow once and never found it during the fall season. But it would seem like after a shot and a stomp that critter couldnt have gone far. I had a deer eaten by coyotes to nothing last year. If you were gone for a half an hour a yote could have cert been in the area. Was it a jake and a raptor carried it off? Seen some eagles and hawks carry some big stuff in the air. Or any other hunters nearby? Would def do a good grid search doesnt seem it would go far if it wasnt taken. http://video.foxnews.com/v/5788424377001/?#sp=show-clips best of luck - hope good news for you!
  15. thats a stomper of a laker!
  16. am thinking i have a soft sided case for it, so fill that with gun and some cushioning then put in a box. Its a PITA but really want to send it. I would drive but its a 6 hour trip one way. Thanks for the info.
  17. if you stompd him chances are it was a yote ! that sucks.
  18. never sent a gun out anywhere - whats the best way to send one out in the mail? Should I wrap it in a gun case and send it that way? Put it in a box ? Im sending it to PA Gonna send one to have the trigger adjusted (thanks for the info on this Doewacker!).
  19. and most of my best fishing days were in these little boats. Little boat doesnt mean little fish.....
  20. have about the same rig for my little boat too. Also have a 4hp yamaha- great motor pushes the boat just fine with 2 guys and gear! enjoy. Can take it most anywhere , great for the little lakes in the dacks.
  21. Everyone enjoy the BBQs with family, the start of summer, bonfires with friends, a beer in your hand, but remember why we have all that to enjoy and the sacrifices that were made for it.
