Very impressive. Looks far better than laying in a tote. Wish you all the success in future findings! -
Actually, their are quite of few American companies still making knives in the U.S... Some new names have hit the market place. Some produce the parts overseas and assembled here, that have made in USA. stamped into the blade.

A complete loss of an entire business in a matter of minutes can be most difficult to suffer, both mentally as well as physically. I can relate to their tragic loss. My heart and prayers go out to the family and hope they can recover and grow to be better than ever!.

what else to do with stew meat?
landtracdeerhunter replied to loworange88's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
I crock pot all the neck meat- stew meat with all different spices. Cook that meat until it so tender. Then separate out all the nasty. I make a killer home made gravy out of some left over beef stock, mix it together and cook it some more. I then sink it into lip lock bags and through it in the freezer. Warm up and serve. Something about freezing it,thawing it that makes the best pulled venison in the world! -
I try to stay out of most deer areas, this time of year. Want to give the chance for the bucks to visit the area to drop their antlers. I'll go back in, come a thaw in March. to look for those sheds , as well as scout. I did make one exception this year in one area, but had darn good reason to.

Here are some big deer tracks. Some of the largest,I've ever seen. My glove size is 1x. Never viewed this deer. Completely nocturnal. Fifth season of tracks. Bigger the hoof, larger the body? Big antlers? I'd sure like to find out!

Like to see bow stay open into January for DMP's only. Deer are a little more relaxed now, and it would be nice to get back out. Maybe a $15 license fee and 1 doe tag.

Deer ready to breed December 13th???
landtracdeerhunter replied to First-light's topic in Deer Hunting
Breeding cycle is still on here, is running later than normal. Should of slowed around the 12th. Many reports of chasing still in progress. Buck bred a young doe in the neighbors back yard, Friday night. I watched 2 bucks locked down on a doe over on Rt 63 Saturday. A few newspaper reporters here, as well LOL. -
Happy Birthday Bubba.

My first season and what I learned... A Story....
landtracdeerhunter replied to zeus1gdsm's topic in Deer Hunting
Like anything else, the more time and effort you put in, the more experience will become you. Add to it, the willingness to never stop learning. We all started there. Continue down the road, you'll start tasting deer. Good luck. . By the way, nice story! Edit: spelling -
That is sweet. Tough call on the sex. Sort of a doe shaped head. For that age, one would think it would have a longer snout though. Photo finish on this one Paula, LOL. Find some sheds from it, then you would know for sure. Thanks for posting.
