    We're getting ready for the antlers less season in just a couple weeks in the Lake Plains area. Finish mowing around the woods scrape areas. Stands have been simmering for quite some time now. Bows practice in hand License in pocket. Something about a new deer season that gets the blood boiling.

    I seen more deer laying by the road the last few weeks. Cooler nights may be making them more mobile.

    I believe it's the cooler damp nights that get them out and about more this time of year. We noticed them too, the last few evenings.. West Nile numbers are going up. Cold like symptoms.

    Yes, summer is winding down. Hard to believe antlers less season starts in the Lake Plains area in a little over two weeks.

    I believe it got hit hard in the neck area and got caught on something sticking off the vehicle like exhaust system clamps. Maybe dragged a long ways by the hide taking it right off the carcass.

    I found the go to areas can fluctuate rapidly, depending on certain conditions.

    To me, it doesn't look like any cat print. The irregular shape of the pad throws me. Maybe had damage done to it?

    No claw mark on that print, that I see. Hard to tell the size without some sort of a reference. The shape of the pads are unusual too.

    Worst looking combine fire I have seen. Looks like it burned itself out. Deere largest combine price tag today is 1,250,000 dollars. Think of paying that insurance premium.

    These paper tags aught to work very well on wet snow and rainy days. I'm just thrilled.
