  1. Some great eating right there. Congrats on a great late season hunt. Enjoyed your story. Nice outcome.
  2. Recycled cigarette case. Holds my starter, powder, sabots, and primers. Fits in my orange vest pocket nicely. Been carrying this for years. Really quite handy.
  3. Overcast, light Southeast breeze at 39 degrees. Great morning sit, but not looking for meat.
  4. Another Southwest windy one. Sunny, Very mild. Leaves are blowing around Very dry for this time of the year .
  5. Now that sunrise is so nice to watch brighten. Makes it all worth while Here was my sunrise this morning, lol.
  6. Wow, sunset adding a minute from sunrise. Another minute longer to hunt the afternoons. Sometimes, that's all you need.
  7. Was thinking of another nasty sit. The wind finally dropped off at 4:30. Deer started coming out of the thicket heading for the wheat. Not in range and I shouldn't of ate the cheese for lunch.
  8. Off to a slow start so far. The wind just refuses to subside. Working the wind is almost impossible in these conditions.
  9. Sad part about it is we may never know what happens to him.
  10. We always make room for muzzleloader season. Weather don't look to bad after this wind blows out.
  11. Deer are nocturnal by nature anyways. They can be caught off guard, even at this late date. One has to be there to do that, however.
  12. We remove a section of the 15 footers, and relocated the brace to a middle location. These newer, narrow ladder stands, not so sure. Safest coarse of action would be to contact the manufacturer of the stand. Safety first, is no accident.
  13. We've all experience tough seasons. It part of deer hunting. Maybe deer food sources are the answer. Sounds like you have the soils to till, plant what others haven't. It does help, Late season included .
  14. Like others have said, their amazing animals.
  15. One other thing to note, he was in the same area, I found his sheds at.
  16. Rain stopped temperatures falling, and the bucks moved just after sunrise . I passed on the 7 pointer, I found the sheds from at the beginning of this thread. I know, a lot of you would have shot but, I would have to buy another freezer. Another smaller buck came out right behind him. Nice to see this late in the game.
  17. It always surprises me how many nice bucks make it through firearms season. Good luck with him.
  18. Good luck to those that are going out with a bow or muzzleloader. Be safe, wear orange, and enjoy the rest of the season. Some of the best deer are still stopping at a woods or a field near you.
  19. Feels more like October out here, rather then December. It's like 53 degrees. Light Southeast breeze with brightening skies. Really quiet out except for a few distant geese honking. Peacefully.
  20. Keep in mind, I'm value minded. With that being said; be a cold day in hell I'd ever pay $32 for a pair of socks, not matter what they do. My Dryshod boots seem to do the trick. Keeping my feet from sweating helps. Nice video though, and thanks for posting.
  21. I usually just leave it plain. This year I found some value minded pork half loin to mix in. I had it years ago and liked it so, why not
  22. Who's ready for it. I always take advantage of the whole season. Never harvested a buck; maybe this will be the year .
  23. Deer exiting food sources. Nice in counter yesterday.
  24. Our first inch snowfall of the season. What is it, like 103 days till Spring?
