  1. Six deer tracked from bedding to clover to wheat. Then caught up with them in the red willow. All young! Deer are moving late here, 11 ish. A quick steak on the grill, then back out. Looks to be a good evening in store!
  2. No. Feel free to post whatever; well within reason, LOL.
  3. Going to plant more red willow, after seeing all these doe in it this morning. Diakon Radish, although not new, is on my list. Hope we have a better growing season, next year!
  4. Just got in from seeing 6 doe. Followed their tracks from bedding to clover to wheat ending up in a thicket of red willow. The ends are nipped off on the willow already.
  5. Seeing that corn is the leading ingredient in dog food, I don't see any dogs chasing corn, LOL.
  6. Biologist try to age deer by the wear of their teeth, give or take a few years. I don't hold much faith in their calculations when a deer gets up in age.
  7. Late September through February here.
  8. Easier terms, their antlers get itchy, LOL.
  9. Ba a nice full mount, if damage isn't to severe.
  10. That's a big 10. Don't remember your 10 you shot. Any pics?
  11. My sons received the turkey survey every year for several years now, and always sent it in. This year, he didn't get one. They sent it to you, LOL. DEC. may have a slight software problem, LOL.
  12. Big Congrats to him! Always nice to share golden time with a friend and neighbor. Some nice angle pics. Quite a few of the big boys still out there, minus one. Great time to be out to get one!
  13. Very active here on food sources, before 6 AM. TODAY.
  14. Interesting just seeing how much faith, people have in the DEC. Think their rate is 40%?
  15. Grow, if I recall, you were showing some nice mature buck pictures early. We don't start seeing mature buck here, until mid October. If memory serves me correct, your area was similar to ours with numbers of doe. Supposed your deer patterns changed for that area? We didn't have the usual fawn sightings through the summer, but I blame that on the late start hay harvests.
  16. As far as deer reporting, NYS. got it the way they want it, what 40 % reporting rate. They would change it if they felt it wasn't successful. it would take more money, NY. doesn't have. Don't forget, they have to come up with millions for the NYSA. enforcement. Where's the money coming for that? Maybe out of Comuo campaign money, LOL.
  17. All set on this one. Now I all want for Christmas is my two front teeth.
  18. Grow, How many shots= a shot deer. I'd say maybe 50% connect successfully. Maybe that number is high. Maybe I missing your point too? And as far as the DEC is concern, I find little value in their or insurance company results on car deer accidents. I see many people hit deer, throw in trunk or back of pickup and leave, never to be reported.
  19. That buck must be one of the smartest -wisest in NYS., to be able to elude roadways, hunters, and the like. He must go into nocturnal very early in the season. One would think at this stage of his life, the antlers would be loosing rapidly in score. Good luck on his shed find! Has anyone you know ever physically viewed this guy?
  20. Just being able to get afield keeps me excited and going back. The deer sightings and harvests are an extra bonus. Age will teach you to enjoy what you are handed!
  21. Most people don't even know they've been had. They want to believe so badly.
  22. Eddie, I know someone that has one of these. Now, he gets a rise out of hunting, LOL.
