  1. We have had a Magtag for 9 years. It has trouble with the automatic luver that regulates the fresh food compartment since we got it + I just had to put a evaporator fan motor in it. The ice maker is worthless. The Magtag repair man is not lonesome, LOL.
  2. Glad to see your recovering. Not being able to catch it has it's dissadvantages also. My misses caught it from me over the weekend. I moved a towel over on the rack, she then used the towel and tranfered it on her back. I'm ususally very careful, and any washing applience I touch goes right in soapy hot water in the washer. She's a little peeved at me right now.
  3. A fair size 8 visiting.. Actually Lawdwaz, it inproves the flavor of the meat, We use to round the pigs off on corn for a few months to fatten them up, before slaughter. You can always tell what an animal has been feed by how the meat taste. The amount of $ their making off the deer industry, I'd eat lobster, LOL. I would worry about CWD with the deer gathering in one spot all the time.
  4. Found a turkey feather where I had tomatoes last year. Yep, they remembered. Flock of 18 cleaned up every ripe fruit on the plants last. To add inssult to injury, they pecked a hole in the green ones. Funny how on the one year, a garden doesn't get planted, how much we miss it. Summer just seems incomplete without it.
  5. See Doc, should of started those food plots last year, LOL An arguement for.
  6. +1 on the ECF. Over 1 million in attendance in it's 9 day running in Hamburg , NY.. If the fams into motor events; The "Ultimate Night of Destruction" featuring Krazy Train and Aftershock, monster truck action on the 15th. Truck and tractor pulls on the 16th and 17th. They have the worlds largest Demolition Derbys on the last Sunday( 18th). Draft horse pulls and some of the best shows in the northeast. The J. E. Strates mile long midway is sure to set the spot with the kids, LOL. Some of the best fair foods around. I say it's one of the biggest county fairs around, and one of the best. Nick Wallenda is even attending, LOL.
  7. The nut trees here were loaded. The last few weeks, ground is loaded with immature nuts. Oaks, hickory, walnut, beech, chestnuts, all dropped. Thought maybe blight ,due to wet weather. Noticed some some leaf damage and curling . Not sure the reason right now.
  8. Never have had turnips go to seed. They usually winter kill out here. Sound like a new min-till planting method u have uncovered. Did the deer eat any of the ripe rye?
  9. Those are some of the cleanest organic soybeans I've ever seen. So many field have yellow beans and washed out low spots this year. They look very good and far along
  10. We saw a person on a Indain 250 , on the 90 around Leroy yesterday. He was weaving and seemed to be severely under powered. On our way back from the Garlic Festival at the Fox Run Vineyards on Seneca Lake.
  11. All of Agriculture is food plotting, in one way or another, isn't it? People hunt over 10' X 10' pacels or 500 acres. What's the difference killing a buck over either?
  12. A few of u people want to turn a perfectly harmless, " out of state" thread into a debate all the time. Would be nice to start your own thread!
  13. Looks like they just redid "The Crush" website. What a nice added touch adding a deer cam.
  14. The panic button has already been pushed here. Everything went out the window back in May. My To Do list is far to long to even mention. As it pours down rain here, I just hope to buy a license and participate.
  15. Hope Lee makes Tiffany fill the feeder, LOL. Get out there girl!
  16. I agree, but they and others alike, have turned deerhunting into a a multi million dollar business. Their were some big ones come in at 5:40 AM..
  17. Heres one. HIP - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation.htm
  18. Some wonderful pics from that Homerew. Look forward to your pics.
  19. We have two old time varieties. Bartlett and Kiefer, or pickling pear. Trees date back to the 1930's. Bartlett ripen in October, where Kiefer will hang into November. Bartlett will be of normal pear size, Kiefers about half.
  20. We went to Florence when we evaculated Myrtle Beach for a Hurricaine., some years ago. Some great friendly local, whole in the wall eating establishments. Their pulled pork with cold slaw and fries was " heaven to the palet." Don't forget the hush puppies. They mix cream corn in them. A side of grits, and move over taste buds, LOL. After rolling out of the place, one of the farmer locals took us to pick cotten, something I always wanted to do.
  21. Don't think u will have to worry about mowing. You're have doe coming in from all over, once they find it. What a nice thing to have happening, during breeding season, LOL.
  22. LOL, know someone on here, that said it didn't effect them last year and boom, caught it. They say a persons system changes every 7 years, IDK.
